Pharmacodynamics
The action of the ointment is ensured by the combined effect of its ingredients:
- Methyl ester of salicylic acid (methyl salicylate) is the active component of integrene oil, applied to the skin, penetrates inside, relieving pain and inflammation of the joint or nerve.
- Menthol is a component that irritates the cold nerve endings of the skin, thereby providing a moderate distracting and analgesic effect.
- Eucalyptus oil – warms inflamed joints.
- Camphor – has a local irritant effect, reducing pain in inflamed muscles, joints, and tendons.
- Turpentine oil - warms muscle, joint, tendon tissue, eliminating unpleasant pain, providing an antiseptic effect along the path of penetration. Releases histamine from the surface layers of the skin, thereby reducing inflammation and providing a tonic effect.
- Clove oil – complements the anesthetic and anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates blood microcirculation and has a relaxing effect on muscle tissue.
- Thymol – provides a fairly pronounced local anesthesia and has a bactericidal effect.
The synergistic action of all natural components makes the ointment very effective in joint and muscle diseases accompanied by pain and muscle stiffness. The active substances included in the ointment, penetrating the epidermis, activate the blood circulation process in the affected tissues, which improves tissue respiration, helps relieve inflammation and muscle tension, and reduces pain.
Pharmacokinetics
Data on the distribution, metabolism and excretion of the multicomponent ointment from the body are not presented; the presumed activity of the external agent is determined by the action of its ingredients and their mutual potentiation, which is typical for complex preparations.
