Falimint is an antiseptic medicine with an antitussive effect. The therapeutic effect occurs due to the anesthetic effect on the mucous membranes. The cough reflex that arises is suppressed, which can occur when the receptors located in the upper respiratory tract are irritated. These organs include the pharynx and larynx. The medicine has primarily a calming, refreshing effect in the mouth and the cavity as a whole. Cooling soothes the cough reflex that can occur in the upper respiratory tract. This drug does not have a drying effect on the mucous membranes, and does not cause a feeling of numbness of the tongue and palate in the oral cavity.
Indications Falymint
The medicine is used in case of inflammatory processes of the upper respiratory tract – tonsillitis, pharyngitis and laryngitis.
Can be prescribed for inflammation of the oral cavity – gingivitis and stomatitis.
Reflex cough can be treated with Falimint.
Indications for use The medicine also applies to preparation for instrumental examinations of the oral cavity and pharynx, before taking impressions and various fittings of dentures.
Falimint for sore throat

Falimint is sold in the form of dragees. The balls are predominantly white or almost white and uniformly colored. The dragees are round in shape with a smooth surface.
The medicine Falimint is sold in blisters, in cardboard packaging. The release form assumes packaging of twenty or forty pieces.
Pharmacodynamics
In its therapeutic effect, Falimint is compared with the properties and action of menthol. This substance creates a pleasant feeling of coolness in the area of application. Pharmacodynamics provides for a complete absence of drying of the mucous membrane, respectively, there is no feeling of numbness of the oral cavity.

Pharmacokinetics
The pharmacokinetics of Falimint provide for good absorption into the body after oral administration. Falimint, its components in a general blood test, isolating plasma and components can only be detected directly in unchanged form 30-60 minutes after taking the medication.
The excretion is carried out through the kidneys with urine and metabolites. The maximum concentration of the metabolized substance is reached after two hours. After six hours, this indicator decreases (about 90% of the initial dose is found in the urine).
Dosing and administration
Falimint should be taken as follows: one unit of the tablet is sucked until completely dissolved. Refrain from drinking water or eating anything for thirty minutes after taking the pills - to enhance the therapeutic effect.
The drug should be taken every two hours. This rule applies to both adults and children. Do not chew the tablet or swallow it immediately.
You can take no more than ten pills per day.
The method of using this medicine does not provide for a course that will last for weeks. As recommended by a doctor, five-day use is usually prescribed.
Use Falymint during pregnancy
At the moment, there are no studies that would show no effect on the fetus during pregnancy. Therefore, it is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy.
Since the medication is absorbed into the mother's milk and passed on to the child, it is better to avoid using Falimint during lactation. It is also recommended to stop breastfeeding during the course of treatment.
Contraindications
The medication should be reduced in case of hypersensitivity to one or more components of the medication. Particular attention should be paid to patients with diabetes mellitus - the calculation of the medication intake per one dragee is 0.03 sugar. Contraindications to the use of Falimint also apply to those who have a sucrose deficiency, are sensitive to fructose or have glucose-galactose malabsorption.
It is not recommended to use the drug for pregnant women and children under five years of age.
Side effects Falymint
Possible side effects of Falimint manifest themselves in allergic reactions on an individual basis - such as itching of skin areas, hives or rash. In rare cases, individual personal intolerance to one of the components of the drug may occur.
In case of taking a large dose of Falimint (several pills taken at one time), vomiting may occur.
Overdose
There are currently no published cases of drug overdose. However, if there is a suspicion of drug intoxication, it is necessary to perform gastric lavage or induce vomiting. It is necessary to continue drinking large amounts of water to completely cleanse the body.
Interactions with other drugs
At the moment, there are no published cases of negative effects of Falimint with other drugs. Therefore, the most common recommendation of doctors is complex treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract.
It is also possible to take the drug for other various diseases. You just need to limit the intake of medications to two hours.
Storage conditions
The medicine must be stored in a dry place, in a room where the temperature does not exceed 25 ° C (room temperature).
The storage conditions of Falimint should also provide space for the pills, to avoid deformation of the drug. The drug should be stored, like any other medical product, out of the reach of children and animals.

Compound
Falimint contains the active medicinal element acetylaminonitropropoxybenzene - twenty-five milligrams in each tablet.
Each dragee is coated. The dragee consists of the following preparations: sucrose, talc, glucose syrup, 30% simethicone emulsion, liquid paraffin and magnesium stearate.
The tablets also contain excipients - sucrose, gelatin, hard fat, talc, capovidone, colloidal silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate.
Can Falimint be used by children?
It is recommended to use the medicine for children starting from the age of five. Make sure that the tablet is thoroughly sucked by the child until it is completely dissolved. The effect of the medicine on younger children has not been sufficiently studied to be able to use the medicine for children.
There are no known restrictions or prohibitions on taking the medication due to age. However, there is a single case where a ten-year-old child took 10 pills at once and had a single bout of vomiting. It can be dangerous to use the medication for children under 6-7 years of age only without parental supervision, as the child may swallow the pill, which will not give the desired effect, or accidentally choke on it.

Suppression of the cough reflex, general analgesic effect and cooling effect are common effects of medicinal developments. Shelf life
The shelf life of Falimint is five years from the date of manufacture. If stored correctly, this period is unchanged and you can take the pills until the expiration date. But if the storage conditions have been violated, the shelf life is reduced.
