Enzibene is a polyenzyme medicine. It contains pancreatin, a pancreatic enzyme involved in the processes of fat, protein and carbohydrate digestion within the digestive system.

The main factor is the enzymatic activity of lipase, and along with this, the trypsin indices; at the same time, amylolytic activity is important only in the treatment of cystic fibrosis, because even in the case of a significant weakening of the excretory function of the pancreas, amylase has sufficient activity. The severity of the effect exerted by pancreatin depends on its volumes and the speed with which enzymes are released from galenic structures.

Indications Enzybene

It is used in case of such problems:

  • disorder of the external excretory activity of the pancreas due to cystic fibrosis or chronic pancreatitis;
  • dyspepsia;
  • conditions associated with simultaneous resection of the small intestine and stomach;
  • functional increase in the speed of passage of food through the intestines;
  • disorder of the gallbladder/liver system;
  • simultaneous intake of fatty, poorly digestible plant foods, as well as foods that are unusual for a person;
  • bloating;
  • intestinal degassing during preparation for ultrasound diagnostics or X-ray procedure.

Release form

The drug is released in tablet form - 10 pieces inside a blister pack. Inside the box - 2 or 8 such packs.

Pharmacokinetics

The tablet coating is not subject to dissolution under the influence of gastric juice, therefore it protects enzymes that are sensitive to this acid during the passage of the tablet through the stomach. Dissolution of this coating occurs only under conditions of a weak alkaline or neutral intestinal environment - in this case, medicinal enzymes are released. Pancreatin is not absorbed inside the digestive system. The released enzymes have a therapeutic effect inside the intestinal lumen.

Dosing and administration

Tablets should be taken without chewing and washed down with plain water. The portion size is selected individually, taking into account the severity of digestive dysfunction. Often, 1-2 tablets are prescribed before meals.

Taking into account the type of food consumed and the intensity of the digestive disorder, you can additionally take 2-4 tablets. It should be taken into account that the effective dosage can be significantly higher. It is prohibited to exceed the daily portion, which, when converted to lipase, is equal to 15-20 thousand U/kg.

Children's portions are selected by the attending physician. For cystic fibrosis in a child under 4 years of age, 1000 U/kg is often used at first with each meal. For a child over 4 years of age, 500 U/kg of the drug is used.

The duration of the treatment cycle can be a minimum of several days (in the case of digestive dysfunction associated with dietary errors) and a maximum of several months or more (when replacement therapy is required).
