Endothelone is an angioprotector, has a venous tonic activity.

The main element of the drug are oligomers derived from water-soluble extract contained in grape seeds. They have a protective effect on collagen with elastin and structural proteins, preventing their denaturation with cleavage.

The drug has a plant-based, has a therapeutic effect, aimed at increasing venous tone and strengthening the strength of capillaries with blood vessels.

Indications Endothelone

It is used to eliminate lymphatic swelling that appears after treatment for breast carcinoma  (to remove the subjective feeling of epidermis tension in this area).

It can be used in case of insufficiency that has a venous-lymphatic character: discomfort when staying in a horizontal position, felt like pesthesia “chills”, as well as a feeling of heaviness with pain in the leg area.

Appointed in case of violation of microcirculation processes in the area of the eye retina and the vessel lining - to prevent the development of complications.

Release form

The release of drugs produced in tablets - 10 pieces inside the plate, in a pack - 2 such plates.

Pharmacokinetics

Procyanidol oligomers, which are flavan derivatives, are absorbed at high speed through the gastrointestinal tract. These components are synthesized mainly with tissues containing a large number of aminoglycans (among them, perivascular connectives).

Plasma Cmax values are recorded after 1.5 hours; the half-life term is 72 hours.

Approximately 70% of the drug with its metabolic components is excreted in the feces; about 20% is excreted in the urine, and another 5% through the respiratory system.

Dosing and administration

Endotelon must be taken by mouth.

When phlebological and lymphological disorders, the drug is taken in the mornings and evenings in a portion of 0.15 g. The cycle of therapy lasts 20 days.

For the treatment of ophthalmic pathologies take 0.1-0.15 g of the drug per day.

Use Endothelone during pregnancy

Although experiments involving animals did not reveal the teratogenic effect of Endotelon, and during clinical practice no embryotoxic effect was noted, the available information is not enough to completely eliminate the risk if used during pregnancy. Because of this, it is used in the specified period only with strict indications and with the appointment of a doctor.

Since there is no information about whether the drug is excreted with the mother's milk, it cannot be prescribed during lactation.

Contraindications

The main contraindications:

  • severe intolerance against procyanidol oligomers or other elements of the drug;
  • fructose malabsorption or glucose-galactose malabsorption;
  • lack of sucrase-isomaltase (due to the presence of sucrose in the drug).

The drug can cause allergy symptoms in the form of an epidermal rash, as well as epigastric pain, nausea and headaches.
