Pharmacodynamics
Eleutherococcus extract is an alcoholic product (40% ethanol), including the roots and rhizomes of the Eleutherococcus senticosus plant. Among the constituent elements of this plant are eleutherosides of types A to G, as well as B1, and also coumarin derivatives with essential oil, flavonoids and resins, as well as plant wax with starch and other substances.
The presence of eleutherosides potentiates the ability of the drug to increase mental and physical performance, as well as resistance to negative external factors. These elements also improve visual acuity, metabolic processes and weakly stimulate the hypoglycemic and gonadotropic effect.
Dosing and administration
Before taking the extract, the bottle with the medicine must be shaken.
The adult dose is 20-30 drops once a day (orally). The extract should be diluted with water and taken before meals (20-30 minutes), preferably before 3 p.m.
The course duration is usually approximately 25-30 days.
Use Eleutherococcus extract during pregnancy
It is prohibited to use the extract during pregnancy.
Interactions with other drugs
Eleutherococcus products potentiate the effects of stimulants and analeptics (such as camphor with caffeine, as well as phenamine, etc.), and in addition act as physiological antagonists of the hypnotic effects of drugs that suppress the central nervous system (this includes tranquilizers with barbiturates, as well as anticonvulsants, etc.).
