Indications psoriasis pills
Indications for use of all the below mentioned remedies include psoriasis of varying severity. Treatment begins with more easily tolerated drugs that have minimal side effects. If relief does not occur, they move on to more powerful, and at the same time, far from harmless remedies.
Release form
The drugs that help to forget about exacerbations of the disease for a long time belong to completely different pharmacological groups and, nevertheless, they are all used to eliminate psoriatic rashes.
Psorilom
The homeopathic drug PsoriLom contains a complex of components that relieve symptoms of exacerbation of psoriasis. Patients with lesions that cover no more than a fifth of the entire skin surface can use it as the main monodrug. With a larger area of rashes, PsoriLom is used as an additional remedy in combination with other drugs.
The pharmacodynamics of the drug is determined by its composition, which includes natural components in homeopathic dilutions, which prevents the occurrence of serious side effects.
It is produced in the form of tablets, the packaging is very diverse from 10 to 200 pieces; sugar granules - from 15 to 50 g in a jar.
Graphite, which is part of the medicine, helps eliminate cracks and rashes, goldenrod complements this action and relieves burning. Barberry exfoliates pustular plaques, simultaneously providing an antipruritic effect. Potassium bromate fights all manifestations of psoriasis in hairy areas. Salicylic acid has an effective anti-inflammatory and disinfectant effect, zinc pyrithione dries wounds, however, their dosages in the composition are negligible and side effects can be neglected.
This drug can also be used during remission to prevent exacerbations. However, despite the apparent safety of Psorilom, it should not be used during pregnancy and lactation, as well as for the treatment of children.
Contraindicated in case of allergy to its ingredients. Rarely may cause sensitization phenomena.
Method of administration: sublingual, three times a day (tablet form - 1 unit, granulated - 8 units). The duration of the course of therapy is from two to three months, after a month's break a repeat dose can be taken.
Clinical consequences of overdose and interactions with other drugs have not been registered.
Store for no more than five years at a temperature of 15-25ºС.
Neotigazon
The dermatotropic drug Neotigazon is used for severe dermatoses, including psoriatic skin lesions. The active component of the drug is acytetrin (synthesized retinoic acid), which normalizes the processes of cellular growth and development.
It is produced in capsules of 10 mg, sealed in blisters of ten pieces, packed in three, five or ten blisters.
Normalizes the rate of reproduction and death of skin cells, improves their structure, and has an exfoliating effect.
Pharmacokinetics: When entering the gastrointestinal tract, Neotigazon is well absorbed into tissues, the maximum concentration is reached within one to four hours. Bioavailability (≈60%) increases when taken simultaneously with food or after meals. Almost completely binds to albumins.
The excretion of the main part of Neotigazone (≈99%) occurs within five weeks in the form of metabolites in urine and bile in equal quantities.
In some organisms, tigazone is formed, in which case complete elimination is prolonged up to two years after the end of treatment.
Contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women, as it crosses the placental barrier and is found in breast milk, as well as in cases of allergy to carotenoid and retinoid derivatives, liver and kidney dysfunction.
Undesirable consequences of taking Neotigazon are expressed in the appearance of signs of hypervitaminosis A.
Method of administration - orally with food or milk once a day. The initial dosage for adults is 0.025-0.03 g from two weeks to a month, then it can be increased to 0.05 g for six to eight weeks. If necessary, the dosage is increased to 0.075 g.
The daily dosage for children is calculated initially as 0.5 mg per 1 kg of weight, if necessary it can be increased for a short period of time to 1 mg per 1 kg of weight, while a single dosage for children should not exceed 35 mg, the maintenance dosage should be as low as possible.
Signs of overdose include dizziness and headache, which require discontinuing Neotigazon.
Do not use in combination with tetracycline antibiotics, methotrexate, phenytoin, retinol and its derivatives. Medicines containing alcohol, alcoholic beverages contribute to the formation of tigazone.
When using Neotigazon, it is prescribed to observe a number of measures: monitoring liver function, glycemia in diabetics, monitoring growth and skeletal development in pediatric patients. Women of childbearing age must use contraceptives during therapy with the drug, as well as for the next two years. Breastfeeding is stopped if treatment is necessary.
Store for no more than three years, maintaining a temperature of up to 25°C, low humidity and absence of light.
Methotrexate
In severe forms of psoriasis, when other medications are ineffective, the cytostatic Methotrexate (an antimetabolite of vitamin B9) is prescribed. It inhibits cell division and tissue proliferation, including cancerous tumors.
Available in tablet form of 2.5 mg, 50 units per package.
The use of the drug by pregnant and lactating women is strictly contraindicated, since it is teratogenic (its use leads to the death of the embryo or congenital pathologies). If the patient becomes pregnant during the treatment, the question of termination of pregnancy is raised.
It is also contraindicated for patients with pathologies of the bone marrow, liver, and kidneys.
Methotrexate causes many side effects, both general and from all organs and systems, including skin defects. It can only be used as prescribed and under the supervision of a doctor.
Methotrexate is prescribed in a dosage of 0.01–0.25 g per week. The dosage is increased gradually, and after achieving a therapeutic effect, it is reduced, stopping at the minimum effective dosage.
Characteristic signs of methotrexate overdose have not been identified, it is determined by the concentration of the drug in the blood serum. The antidote is calcium folinate, administered immediately after detecting an increased concentration, and other measures are taken to accelerate the elimination of the drug from the body.
Like all cytostatics, methotrexate has a long list of interactions with other drugs, which is included in the instructions attached to it. In particular, its combination with NSAIDs, penicillin, tetracycline antibiotics, retinoids is dangerous due to the development of severe intoxication, which can lead to death.
Store for no more than three years, maintaining a temperature of up to 25°C, in a place inaccessible to sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
Laminin
The bioactive supplement Laminin, which makes the body restore damaged functions at the cellular level on its own, and therefore, as the manufacturers claim, completely renew the body and make it healthy. A sort of magic pill that decides for both the patient and the doctor what to treat and restore. The main ingredients of Laminin are the extract of a nine-day fertilized chicken egg, proteins of yellow peas and cartilage of a deep-sea shark. It is positioned as a nutritional corrector, absolutely safe and useful for everyone - and children from six months, and pregnant women, and nursing mothers. And most importantly, both sick and healthy! It has no side effects, in short, it is used without restrictions. However, the manufacturer admits that the body may encounter sensitization to the drug.
Method of administration and dosage: starting from 12 years, the daily dose is from one to four capsules. People with serious pathologies should start with one capsule per day, gradually increasing the dosage to two or three capsules twice a day.
For children under 12, the dosage is halved. For toddlers, the capsule can be opened and the contents mixed with water. When taking Laminin, you must drink at least two liters of water per day, not including tea, coffee, juice, and liquid dishes.
For a more effective action, before taking laminin, it is recommended to undergo a course of bowel cleansing; the easiest way is with flax seed: dilute a tablespoon of flax seed ground in a coffee grinder in water and drink in the morning (half an hour before breakfast) and before bed.
Folic acid
The cause of the disease is sometimes called a deficiency of folic acid (vitamin B9). A course of this vitamin allows you to achieve long-term remission. The treatment regimen is prescribed by a doctor.
Available in tablet form of 1 mg, 10 and 30 units.
Without Folic acid, oxidation-reduction reactions do not occur in the body. With its participation, the functions of the liver, intestines, hematopoiesis processes are regulated, immunity is strengthened. Taking folic acid during pregnancy eliminates the risk of intrauterine pathologies.
When taken orally, it is completely absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, and almost the entire dose can be detected in the blood in less than six hours. It is metabolized in the liver, half of the amount taken is excreted by the kidneys, and half by the intestines.
For prophylactic purposes it is indicated for pregnant women and can be prescribed during lactation.
Contraindicated in cases of sensitization to vitamin B9, and for children under three years of age.
Occasionally there is a possibility of side effects in the form of allergies.
Take orally after meals, one or two tablets one to three times a day (no more than five).
For children over three years of age, the maximum daily dose is two tablets.
The duration of the course of therapy is no more than a month.
Interaction with other drugs:
- the combination of folic acid with tetracycline antibiotics, polymyxin, neomycin, chloramphenicol reduces its absorption in the intestine;
- The combination of folic acid with PAS sodium salt, phenytoin, primidone, sulfosalazine, chlorphenicol, hormonal contraceptive pills reduces their effectiveness. There is no information on overdose.
Store for no more than three years, maintaining a temperature of 15-25°C, low humidity and protection from sunlight.

Lecithin
Often, when treating dermatoses, Lecithin is prescribed as part of a complex of drugs, which can significantly weaken the manifestations of the disease. In the human body, lecithin mainly consists of cell walls, so such a food supplement is necessary as the main building material for the restoration of damaged cells. Lecithin transports nutrients and vitamins to cells, helps to increase the effect of medications taken, binding free radicals, and prevents tissue oxidation.
A person with chronic lecithin deficiency loses the ability to recover and renew, and no medications will help him until this deficiency is replenished.
Available in 1.705g capsules, consisting of 98.6% lecithin, 0.8% monoglycerides, and the rest is moisture.
The use of lecithin during pregnancy and lactation is permitted and even encouraged.
Contraindication is sensitization of the body to lecithin.
Taken orally during meals, two to three capsules per day; for severe forms of psoriasis, a higher dose is required (prescribed by a doctor).
Store for no more than three years, maintaining a temperature of up to 25°C, in a place protected from moisture and sunlight.
Milgamma
Long-term psoriasis and frequent exacerbations entail pathological changes in the nervous system of patients. In the complex therapy of such patients, the drug Milgamma is used to replenish the deficiency of B vitamins, stabilizing the functioning of the nervous system and hematopoiesis.
Tablets for oral administration contain benfotiamine (lipophilic derivative of vitamin B1) - 0.1 g, pyridoxine hydrochloride - 0.1 g. These vitamins are phosphorylated in the body's tissues, turning into bioactive components, and participate in many vital physiological processes of tissue metabolism. Benfotiamine metabolites participate in carbohydrate metabolism (thiamine triphosphate) and the transportation of aldehyde groups, in the direct oxidation of carbohydrates (thiamine pyruvate). Pyridoxine metabolites participate in the metabolism of the vast majority of amino acids with the formation of hormones (adrenaline, tyramine, dopamine, histamine, serotonin), as well as in the process of hemoglobin synthesis.
The half-life of thiamine is 35 minutes, it does not accumulate in tissues, and is excreted by the kidneys.
The second component of the tablet, having turned into pyridoxal-5-phosphate, binds to albumin in the blood serum, where it is hydrolyzed, and then probably accumulates in cells.
Use by pregnant and lactating women is not recommended, as the effects of this drug on the fetus and the possibility of passing into breast milk have not been studied.
Contraindicated in case of heart dysfunction, allergies to ingredients, children and adolescents 0-15 years old.
Side effects of taking: allergies in various forms, weakness, slow heart rate, irregular heartbeat, dizziness, nausea, convulsions.
Oral administration of Milgamma up to three tablets per day (three times one), the maintenance dose is one tablet per day. The course duration is four weeks.
Thiamine in combination with other vitamins inhibits their activity; in sulfate solutions it completely disintegrates; the activity of thiamine is inhibited by penicillin, glucose, mercury chloride, salts and esters of acetic, carbonic, hydroiodic acids, tannic acid, riboflavin, citric ammonium iron, metabisulfite, and is reduced in combination with copper and in an alkaline environment.
Pyridoxine is not prescribed together with levodopa and drugs containing it.
Overdose causes symptoms similar to side effects.
Store for no more than five years, maintaining a temperature of up to 25°C, low humidity and no sunlight.
Mumiyo in tablets
Mumiyo in tablets is a biostimulant prescribed for various diseases, preventing the occurrence of gene mutations, an immunostimulant that accelerates reparative processes in affected organs and tissues.

Psoriasis Itching Pills
During an exacerbation, psoriatic plaques itch a lot, and this creates serious discomfort during the day, and especially at night, when itching and burning interfere with sleep.
Suprastin
In the complex treatment of relapses of this disease, antihistamines are used to alleviate the condition. For example, Suprastin, which has an antipruritic and mild hypnotic effect.
It is produced in 0.025g tablets, sealed in blisters of 10 and 20 units, or packaged in plastic jars of 20 units.
This drug has classic pharmacodynamics of a representative of this pharmacological group. It blocks the reactions of organs and tissues to histamine, in addition, it has a depressing effect on the central nervous system, has a mild hypnotic effect. The active substance is chloropyramine hydrochloride (histamine H1-receptor blocker), which has the ability to remove the urge to vomit, relieve spasms and calm the nervous system. Its effectiveness is felt within half an hour after oral administration. Maximum relief occurs after an hour and lasts from three to six hours.
Pharmacokinetics: when taken orally, the dose of suprastin is almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and distributed in organs and tissues, including nerves. Metabolism occurs in the liver, excreted in the urine. In childhood, metabolism and elimination are faster.
Not prescribed to pregnant and lactating women, as well as in cases of paroxysms of bronchial asthma, sensitization to Suprastin and newborns. Exercise caution when prescribing to patients with prostate adenoma and urinary retention, with closed-angle glaucoma, liver and kidney failure, heart and vascular pathologies, and the elderly.
Side effects from taking the drug are virtually non-existent and disappear when the drug is stopped.
Symptoms of nervous disorder (weakness, drowsiness, dizziness, nervous excitement, tremor, headache, euphoria), dyspeptic disorders; hypotension, tachycardia, heart rate disorders; difficulty urinating; intraocular hypertension, photosensitivity, very rarely - disorders of hematopoiesis.
During the appointment, you should not perform work that requires concentration.

Hormonal pills for psoriasis
The classic treatment regimen for psoriasis involves starting therapy with the most harmless drugs, such as prednisolone, and only if they are ineffective prescribing more powerful ones.
However, American dermatologists practice a different tactic: at the very beginning of treatment, an effective new-generation hormonal drug is prescribed to relieve the main symptoms, while maintenance therapy is carried out with a more moderate drug.
However, in each case, potent drugs are used in short courses, as they provoke many serious side effects.
Betamethasone
Of the hormonal tablets used in the treatment of psoriasis, the systemic glucocorticoid Betamethasone or its analogues is used. It is used in severe forms of psoriasis, in particular, psoriatic arthritis.
It is available in tablets of 0.5 mg betamethasone, packaged in 30, 100 or 500 units.
It has a powerful effect against pro-inflammatory and pro-allergic factors at all phases of the process, quickly eliminating burning and itching.
Strengthens cell membranes, including lysosomes, which leads to a decrease in their density in the inflammation zone, suppresses the movement of neutrophils and macrophages to this zone, as well as their phagocytic activity. Normalizes microcirculation, strengthens the walls and narrows the lumen of blood vessels, reduces exudation.
Inhibits tissue proliferation, reducing the number of B- and T-lymphocytes, mast cells, as well as the formation of antibodies, sensitization of effector cells to proallergic mediators. Suppresses immunity, reducing the activity of B- and T-lymphocytes and preventing the release of interleukins from leukocytes and macrophages.
It affects metabolic processes: accelerates the production of glucose in the liver, protein catabolism, redistribution of fat, retains sodium and water, promotes the excretion of potassium and calcium.
Pharmacokinetics: has good absorption properties - when taken orally, the highest concentration is achieved after one to two hours.
Binds to blood proteins. Crosses histohematic barriers well (including placental barrier), found in breast milk. Metabolized by the liver, forming inactive metabolites. Eliminated by the kidneys.
The use of hormonal pills by pregnant and lactating women is not recommended.
Contraindicated for patients with arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, severe circulatory disorders, open tuberculosis, ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, syphilis, hypocalcemia, mental pathologies, glaucoma, generalized fungal infections.
Side effects: weight gain, hypocalcemia, fractures of long bones, hypertension, edema, peptic ulcer of the gastrointestinal tract, relapses of sluggish infectious processes, increased blood sugar levels, irritability, insomnia, menstrual cycle disorders, dysfunction of the adrenal cortex.
Method of administration – the dosage and treatment regimen are prescribed by the doctor, based on the patient’s medical history and response to therapy. When the therapeutic effect is achieved, the dosage is gradually reduced by 0.025-0.05 g every three days to the maintenance dose.
It is recommended to take the drug in the morning, which corresponds to the natural biorhythm of hormone secretion.
Interaction with phenobarbital, diphenin, rifampicin, ephedrine accelerates the process of decomposition of Betamethasone, reducing its effectiveness.
Preparations containing estrogens greatly increase its effectiveness.
Combination with diuretics reduces the potassium content in the blood.
Combination with digitoxin increases the toxicity of the latter, and with cardiac glycosides it increases the risk of heart rhythm disorders.
Store for no more than three years at temperatures up to 25°C.

Liver Cleansing Tablets for Psoriasis
In the complex treatment of psoriasis, especially complicated forms, hepatoprotectors are used, which cleanse and restore liver cells.
Heptral
Available in tablet form of 0.4g, 10 or 20 units per package.
The active substance ademetionine is a natural component of tissues and physiological fluids of the human body, a hepatoprotector with antidepressant properties. It increases the production and facilitates the flow of bile, relieves intoxication, restores liver cells, binds free radicals, and prevents fibrosis. A decrease in the level of ademetionine causes a depressed, depressed mood. Heptral not only compensates for the deficiency of this substance, but also accelerates its synthesis in the liver, brain, spinal cord, and other organs. Its use is accompanied by positive dynamics of liver function tests.
Normal bile secretion and liver cell function persist for another three months after drug withdrawal.
Ademetionine, entering the body with the drug, undergoes transformations similar to a natural substance. When its level increases, methylation of phospholipids in neuron membranes is normalized, thereby prolonging their lifespan and stabilizing the transmission of nerve impulses.
The antidepressant effect develops quickly, with the maximum observed at the end of the week of intake.
The use of Heptral tablets by pregnant and lactating women is not recommended. If necessary (if the probable benefit to the woman exceeds the danger to her future child), the drug can be used in the 7th-9th month. For the purpose of prescribing to lactating mothers, the possibility of transferring the child to artificial feeding is considered.
Contraindicated in case of sensitization to the ingredients.
Side effects: allergies, dyspeptic symptoms, sleep disorders.
Method of administration and dosage – orally from two to four tablets between breakfast and lunch, since the drug has a mild stimulating effect. Wash down with water, do not crush. The average duration of the course of treatment is from two to eight weeks.
There are no known cases of exceeding the dose of the drug.
Store for no more than three years at temperatures up to 25ºС.
Phosphogliv
Available in capsules of 0.1 g, of which phospholipids - 0.065 g, sodium glycyrrhizinate - 0.035 g.
A complex medicinal product that stabilizes cell membranes and protects liver cells from damage, including by viruses. Active ingredients: phospholipids, which include the cytoprotector phosphatidylcholine and the antiviral agent glycyrrhizic acid.
Phosphatidylcholine, a natural element of liver cells, restores damaged structures of cell membranes, with its help the metabolism of proteins and lipids is regulated. Phospholipids prevent the loss of enzymatic and other components by liver cells, activate the liver's ability to remove toxins, and also prevent the growth of connective tissue formations (fibrosis and cirrhosis) of the liver.
Glycyrrhizic acid is an active antagonist of viruses and inflammations. Prevents the reproduction of viruses, stimulating the production of interferons, increasing the activity of natural phagocytes. The acid strengthens the walls of liver cells and binds free radicals. Increasing the activity of endogenous corticosteroids, it prevents the development of inflammation and allergic reactions.
In psoriasis, this drug prevents the appearance and spread of plaques by stabilizing cell membranes and metabolic processes, suppressing pro-inflammatory factors and relieving intoxication.
The active substances of Phosphogliv taken orally are well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, binding in the blood with protein and lipoprotein components of plasma. Phospholipids obtained with the drug combine with endogenous ones within several hours from the moment of administration, the therapeutic concentration of glycyrrhizic acid circulates in the tissues of the body for about half a day. Its elimination occurs with bile.
The use of Phosphogliv by pregnant and lactating women is not recommended, since the effect on the embryo and breast milk has not been studied.
Contraindicated for patients with an established allergy to the components of the product, children aged 0-12 years, and persons with hypertension in the portal vein.
As a result of using the drug, the following side effects may develop in some cases:
- allergic reactions;
- arterial hypertension;
- swelling.
Method of use and dosage: swallow whole with water during meals, it is recommended to take one or two capsules three to four times a day. The duration of use varies from a month to six months, the regimen is determined by the doctor.
In combination with GCS, the likelihood of their action and side effects increases.
Information on the consequences of overdosing on the drug has not been published.
Store for no more than three years at a temperature of 15-20ºС.
Essentiale Forte
Available in 0.3g capsules, packed in 30 or 100 units.
The active ingredient is essential phospholipids (highly purified phosphatidylcholine fraction), structurally similar to endogenous ones, but superior to them in the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, in particular, linoleic. Phospholipids, which are a natural component of liver cells, are directly involved in the processes of cell reproduction. They regulate the permeability of hepatocyte membranes, intracellular respiration, biooxidation, and metabolism. In toxic liver damage, the production of endogenous phospholipids and, consequently, their functions are disrupted.
Essentiale's action is aimed at eliminating violations of the integrity of cells and their membranes, restoring and normalizing liver function. Use by pregnant and lactating women is possible only as prescribed by a specialist.
Contraindicated in case of known sensitization to the components of the drug.
Very rarely, diarrhea may occur as a side effect.
Approximate treatment regimen for psoriasis: initial dosage is two capsules three times daily for two weeks, then ten intravenous injections in combination with PUVA therapy, then oral administration again for a two-month course.
No interactions with other drugs have been identified, and no consequences of overdosing have been reported.
Store for no more than three years, maintaining a temperature regime of up to 25°C, in rooms with low air humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
Karsil
Available in 0.03g dragees, packaged in 80 units.
The active ingredient is silymarin (milk thistle fruit extract). Silymarin is a cell membrane stabilizer that reduces the impact of toxins on liver cells and stimulates their renewal. It has the ability to bind free radicals and normalizes metabolic processes in hepatocytes.
Taking Karsil has a positive therapeutic effect, which affects both the patient's well-being and the normalization of laboratory tests. It is eliminated mainly by the kidneys.
Use by pregnant and lactating women – according to strict medical indications.
Contraindicated in case of allergy to the ingredients of Karsil, children 0-5 years old.
Side effects: dyspeptic symptoms, very rarely – hair loss and vestibular disorders, which disappear on their own after stopping the treatment.
The treatment regimen is determined by the doctor, the recommended dosage is no more than four pills three times a day, the duration of therapy is not less than three months.
The daily dosage for children is calculated as follows - 5 mg / kg of weight, divided into three doses.
No interactions with other drugs have been identified, and no overdose effects have been reported.
Store for no more than three years at a temperature of 16-25°C, low humidity and away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
Psoriasis is one of the most well-known and widespread, and at the same time mysterious diseases. Its causes are still in the realm of speculation and the manifestations are very individual. Uncomplicated relapses of vulgar psoriasis are treated mainly with local medications. In this case, the so-called "ladder of therapeutic measures" is used, which goes from simple local remedies to increasingly stronger ones. If external remedies are ineffective, when 2/3 of the ladder has been passed, only then are tablets prescribed. The strongest of them are immunosuppressants, very effective, but very toxic.
New generation psoriasis tablets appeared at the beginning of the 21st century. They have the ability to selectively inhibit the activity of T-lymphocytes (alefacept, ustekinumab, adalimumab, infliximab). These drugs are highly effective, however, against the background of a decrease in the immune barrier, there is a high probability of secondary infection. Moreover, their pharmacological properties have not yet been sufficiently studied.
To top it all off, effective psoriasis pills can only be found in the process of treating a specific patient under the supervision of a dermatologist.
