Artelac

A moisturizing ophthalmological preparation for local use. Contains the active substance - hypromellose (partially hydroxypropylated and methylated cellulose). Moisturizing of the cornea occurs due to the adsorption of liquid and a decrease in its surface tension, an increase in the density of the tear fluid.

• Indications for use: reduction of symptoms of increased corneal dryness, elimination of itching, burning, pain and feeling of sand in the eyes. The scheme of use of the drug is made by an ophthalmologist, individually for each patient.
• Side effects: burning, increased lacrimation, pain, short-term blurred vision.
• Contraindications: intolerance to the components of the drug, pediatric practice. After instillation of the drug, you should refrain from driving a car until the clarity of vision is restored.

Visine

Drops with the active substance - tetryzoline (a-adrenergic stimulant). The drug promotes vasoconstriction, reduces conjunctival edema. Dilates the pupil and reduces the formation of intraocular fluid. The therapeutic effect develops within 1-3 minutes and lasts 4-8 hours. It is not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream.

• Indications for use: increased lacrimation, redness of the cornea and swelling of the eyelids due to exposure to chemical and allergic factors, allergic conjunctivitis.
• Method of application: the drug is instilled 1-2 drops 2-3 times a day. The duration of continuous treatment should not exceed 4 days.
• Side effects: conjunctival irritation, burning, redness and blurred vision, allergic reactions, pain.
• Contraindications: individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, patients under two years of age, closed-angle glaucoma, corneal dystrophy. It is used with special caution in diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, hyperthyroidism. Use during pregnancy is permitted.
• Overdose of drops is excluded. Side effects may occur when the drug enters the digestive tract. In this case, tachycardia, convulsions, nausea and vomiting, respiratory failure, pulmonary edema are likely to develop. For treatment, it is necessary to wash the stomach and conduct further symptomatic therapy.

The drug is available in the form of 15 ml drops with a 0.05% solution of tetryzoline.

Tobrex

A medicinal product with the active component tobramycin. It has a broad spectrum of action and pronounced bacteriostatic activity.

• Indications for use: keratitis, conjunctivitis, infectious processes in the postoperative period, blepharitis, keratoconjunctivitis.
• Method of application: instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac. In acute inflammatory process, the procedure can be performed every hour, in other cases every 4 hours.
• Side effects and contraindications: local allergic reactions with swelling and redness of the eyelids. Drops are contraindicated in case of intolerance to the active components.

Floxal

Antibacterial agent for the treatment of ophthalmological diseases. Contains the active component - ofloxacin. Has a broad spectrum of action.

• Indications for use: infectious and inflammatory eye lesions, traumatic injuries to the eyeball, conjunctivitis, keratitis, barley, ulcerative lesions of the cornea, dacryocystitis.
• Method of application: drops are instilled into the conjunctival sac 2-4 times a day. Duration of treatment is 7-14 days.
• Side effects: transient reddening of the conjunctiva, burning, increased dryness, photophobia, lacrimation, allergic reactions, headaches and dizziness. No cases of overdose have been recorded.
• Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Use during pregnancy is possible only on doctor's prescription.
