Pharmacodynamics
The medicine is a balanced complex of digestive enzymes that participate in the breakdown of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and fiber.
Papain is an enzyme from the hydrolase subgroup. The substance is isolated from papaya juice. It helps protein hydrolysis (effectively acts in the breakdown of meat proteins).
Pepsin is an enzyme of animal origin that is a catalyst for protein and peptide breakdown.
Sanzyme-2000 is a multi-enzyme complex containing proteases with amylases and lipases, which can be obtained from plant tissues with bacteria, as well as fungi with animals and yeast.
Cellulose enzyme (obtained from soil microbes) performs hydrolysis of this component. Ribonucleases are catalysts of RNA hydrolysis processes before formation of some peptides.
Dosing and administration
The syrup should be taken orally, with food. An adult requires 1 tablespoon of syrup, taken 3 times a day. Infants up to 12 months of age take 8-15 drops (depending on the severity of the digestive disorder) 3 times a day. Children over 1 year of age should take 1 teaspoon of the medicine 3 times a day. Children aged 7-14 years – 2 teaspoons 3 times a day.

Reviews
Digestin was used in children and patients of other age categories during clinical tests (patients complained of discomfort and pain in the upper abdominal region, decreased appetite, dyspepsia, flatulence and colic). All of them, after 14 days of use, experienced the disappearance of digestive disorders, normalization of digestion processes and improvement of appetite.
Because the drug does not contain alcohol, it is often used in children (this is also facilitated by the convenient dosage form). Most of the comments on the forums relate to the use of the drug in children. Most parents are happy, but there are also reviews that there was no effect.
