DENEBOL GEL is an anti-rheumatic NSAID. It is part of the coxib group.
Indications DeneBol Gel
The medication is indicated for the elimination of osteoarthritis (acute or chronic form), periarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and in addition bursitis with thrombophlebitis and an inflammatory process in the tendon area. Together with this, it is also used for osteoarthrosis and osteochondrosis, damage to the ODA, lumbago and neuralgia. It is also used for inflammation in the muscles, ligaments and tendons with joints that develop after trauma (for example, as a result of overstrain, getting stretched or hitting).
Release form
Produced in a gel form in tubes with a volume of 30 g. In one bundle 1 tube with gel.
Pharmacodynamics
The active component of the gel is rofecoxib (NSAID) - a pronounced selective inhibitor of COX-2. When used locally, it has antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Activation of COX-2 occurs as a reaction to inflammation - as a result, cumulation and synthesis of inflammation conductors (among such Pg E2) begins, which causes the appearance of swelling, inflammation, and pain. The anti-inflammatory properties of rofecoxib are due to the suppression of the process of synthesis of PG by slowing down the activity of COX-2.
Medicinal drug concentrations do not inhibit COX-1, which allows the drug to not have an effect on the GHG that binds as a result of the active action of COX-1. That is why it does not interfere with the natural physiological processes occurring inside the tissues (in particular, it concerns the gastrointestinal tract, as well as platelets).
Flaxseed oil is a diemulsified agent with a softening effect, which is a component of local drug use. It contains α-linoleic acid (it is very important for the activity of the human body).
Menthol has cooling properties and has a therapeutic effect when applied locally on the skin. This component stimulates the "cold" endings and normalizes the movement of Ca ion fluxes through neuronal membranes.
Methylsalicylate is a rubafacient for local use in arthralgia, myalgia, and soft tissue damage. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, as it is able to normalize the enzyme COX.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption of the gel applied to the skin inside the systemic blood flow is rather slow. Even the use of the drug in large quantities does not increase the plasma concentration of the active ingredient.
Dosing and administration
Handle the surface of the skin with gel 3-4 times a day (light rubbing). The size of the dosage depends on the area of the injured area. For example, about 2-4 grams of gel will be enough to handle an area of about 400-800 cm. Children will have enough 1-2 grams of medication.
After the procedure, you need to wash your hands. The total duration of the treatment course depends on the effectiveness of drugs, as well as indications.
Use DeneBol Gel during pregnancy
There is no data on the use of drugs in pregnant women, but in any case, use of rofecoxib is permitted only in cases of high probability of benefit to the mother and a small risk of adverse effects on the fetus.
There is no information on the penetration of the active ingredient into breast milk, so it is required to stop breastfeeding for a while during the period of drug use.
Contraindications
Contraindications are intolerance to rofecoxib or other components of the drug.
Interactions with other drugs
When the recommended dosage is used locally, the systematic absorption of the active components will be lower than the probability of negative drug interaction. But with excessive local use of methyl salicylate, it is possible to absorb it through the skin and develop an interaction similar to manifestations with warfarin.
Shelf life
Denebol gel is suitable for use for 2 years from the date of production of drugs.
