Indications A-Claw-Pharmex

Indications for the use of A-Clave Pharmex concern the treatment of bacterial infections caused by pathogens that are sensitive to a combination of active substances of the drug, primarily mixed infection pathologies that have arisen as a result of exposure to the body of gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic microbes and anaerobes.

In the list of indications for use, the following diseases are noted:

  • infections of the respiratory tract (pneumonia, acute bronchitis with bacterial superinfection, exacerbations of chronic bronchitis);
  • infection of the throat, nose and ears (recurrent tonsillitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, acute and chronic otitis media, pharyngeal abscess);
  • urinary tract infection (cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, pyelitis);
  • infections of the skin and soft tissues (purulent wounds, fasciitis, phlegmon, secondarily infected dermatoses);
  • infectious inflammation of bone tissue and joints, including osteomyelitis;
  • gynecological infections (endometritis, bacterial vaginitis, septic abortion, postpartum infections) and sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, soft chancre);
  • abdominal infections and postoperative complications in the abdominal cavity, including sepsis. And also the prevention of infections during surgery.

Release form

Form: powder in vials for the preparation of solution for injection (1000 mg / 200 mg and 500 mg / 100 mg), powder in vials for the preparation of suspension for oral administration (312.5 mg / 5 ml), coated tablets (875 mg, 500 mg and 250 mg in terms of amoxicillin), capsules 120 mg.

The active substances are amoxicillin in the form of trihydrate and clavulanic acid in the form of potassium salt.

Pharmacodynamics

A-Clave Pharmex is a combination of a penicillin antibacterial amoxicillin with a broad spectrum of action and clavulanic acid, which is an inhibitor of beta-lactamases produced by microorganisms such as gram-positive aerobes (Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Listeria spp., Enteroccocus faecalls), Gram-negative aerobes (Haemophillus, Moraxella, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Proteus, Salmonella species, Shigella species) and anaerobes (Peptococcus spp., Peptostreptococcus spp., Bacteroides spp., etc.). Due to the action of clavulanic acid on bacterial cells, pathogenic microbes lose the ability to withstand the therapeutic effects of amoxicillin.

Pharmacokinetics

The main pharmacokinetic indices of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid are similar: they quickly enter the body fluids and tissues, and when meningitis penetrates the blood-brain barrier. The highest level of concentration in tissues and liquids is achieved 60 minutes after the peak of their concentration in the blood serum. It should be noted that A-Clave-Farmex also penetrate the placental barrier and enters the breast milk (in small concentrations).

Up to 20% of amoxicillin and about 30% of clavulanic acid bind to plasma proteins. In this case, amoxicillin is practically unchanged in urine, and clavulanic acid in the liver is actively metabolized, and metabolites are excreted by the kidneys, intestines and lungs.

Dosing and administration

Doses and the method of application of this drug are determined depending on the age, body weight and condition of the patient's kidneys, the localization of infection and the severity of the disease.

A-Clave-Farmex is prescribed for adults and children over 12 years of age (that is, with a body weight of more than 40 kg) at a dosage of 500 mg twice a day or 250 mg three times a day. In severe cases (and infections of the respiratory tract) - 875 mg 2 times or 500 mg 3 times during the day. The drug is administered intravenously (slowly, for 3-5 minutes) or drip (for 30-40 minutes).

Children under 12 years of age can be given the drug in the form of a suspension (water is used as a solvent): children under 3 months of age - 30 mg per kilogram of weight (2 meals per day); children 3 months and older - 25 mg per kilogram of weight (in 2 divided doses per day) or 20 mg per kilogram of weight (3 meals per day). In severe cases - 45 mg per kilogram of weight (in 2 divided doses per day) or 40 mg per kilogram of weight (in 3 divided doses). The course of treatment for adults and children - from 5 to 14 days.

As the treatment progresses, the parenteral administration of A-Clav-Pharmex can be replaced by oral administration. Adults and children over 12 years of age (with mild or moderate disease) are given 1 tablet (250 mg) every 8 hours or 1 tablet (500 mg) every 12 hours. In the case of severe infection and respiratory infections, 1 tablet (500 mg) every 8 hours or 1 tablet (875 mg) every 12 hours. During treatment with A-Clave-Farmex, a plentiful drink is recommended.

Use A-Claw-Pharmex during pregnancy

The use of A-Clave Pharmex during pregnancy is allowed with clear indications and when the expected benefit for the mother's health exceeds the risk of adverse effects on the fetus. If the drug is used during lactation, it is recommended to stop breastfeeding for the duration of treatment.

Contraindications

The use of A-Clave-Farmex is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid or other components of the drug, as well as antibiotics of the penicillin group. Do not apply A-Clave-Farmex in infectious mononucleosis, cholestatic jaundice and hepatitis, which were caused by penicillin and antibiotics of this group.

Side effects A-Claw-Pharmex

As a rule, the side effects of A-Clave-Farmex are weak and pass quickly. Most often, side effects affect the gastrointestinal tract (in the form of diarrhea, nausea and vomiting), and give a skin reaction in the form of allergic dermatitis (occasionally - in the form of polyformed erythema).

On the part of the hemopoietic system, a decrease in the number of leukocytes in the blood (leukopenia) and the number of thrombocytes (thrombocytopenia) are possible. Very rarely there is hemolytic anemia.

In some patients, with A-Clave-Farmex, dizziness and headache are noted. At high doses of the drug, as well as in patients with kidney pathologies, convulsions and hematuria (the presence of blood in the urine) may occur.

Overdose

Overdosing, that is, taking a large amount of A-Claw Pharmex can lead to nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, as well as to insomnia, dizziness and convulsions.

Interactions with other drugs

As infusion solutions can be used: water for injection, saline (0.9% sodium chloride), Ringer's solution with lactate for infusions, potassium chloride or sodium chloride solution for intravenous infusions.

When carrying out intravenous infusions, A-Clave-Farmex should not be mixed with other medicinal products in one syringe or vial.

The interaction of A-Clave Pharmex with other drugs is expressed in the fact that its simultaneous use with methotrexate increases its toxicity, with allopurinol-increases the risk of developing exanthema. In addition, A-Clave-Farmex should not be administered together with the use of anticoagulant preparations, aminoglycosides, disulfiram.
