Diseases, like people, are different. Some are simple and straightforward, their nature and treatment are laid out on the shelves. And others are unpredictable and insidious, like psoriasis. And it is difficult to get to the bottom of the causes and effective treatment that allows you to forget about the problem forever is still unknown. But it is not in vain that scientists from different countries are struggling with this task, several effective means have already been found that prolong the happy time of remission of the disease for patients with psoriasis. One of these truly miraculous means is psoriasis patches, the development of the composition of which is based on the knowledge of Eastern medicine.

Indications of the psoriasis patch

Despite the fact that the patches that allow you to rest from the painful manifestations of psoriasis for a long time were not invented in our country and are not available for free sale through pharmacy chains, the Internet always comes to the rescue these days. It is on the Internet on proven serious sites that patients with an insidious non-infectious disease called "psoriasis" can find their salvation.

The main indications for the use of medicinal patches are the appearance of symptoms of psoriasis, which is sometimes called "scaly lichen". And, despite the fact that the disease affects many organs and systems of the body, its main manifestations are still visible on the skin, which is why it is necessary to use local remedies to treat the disease.

The symptoms of psoriasis exactly confirm its second name and include the appearance of a specific rash in the form of papules covered with easily removable scales, which are called psoriatic plaques. It is with these unpleasant-looking and terrible discomforting rashes on the body that special medical patches for psoriasis are designed to fight.

But not only patients with psoriasis will be able to experience the effectiveness of the miracle drug. Diseases, the characteristic sign of which is the appearance of itchy inflammation spots on the skin, covered with specific crusts and scales, are, of course, a field of activity for the above-described patches. Such diseases include neurodermatitis, eczema, nodular scabies.

Some information indicates that the patches are also successfully used to combat swelling and pain, although there are no such indications in the instructions for the drug.

Release form

Today, there are 2 types of effective psoriasis patches available to the general public. Both of them are developed and manufactured in China. Their benefits in treating pathologies are confirmed by numerous positive reviews from happy patients, which once again proves that the “made in China” label does not mean a “low-quality product.”

One of the varieties of Chinese medicinal patches is a preparation known as "Tender Skin", which perfectly describes the effect of this patch against psoriasis. It is intended for people with different skin types. At the same time, its calming effect on sensitive skin and a remarkable effect in the treatment of various symptoms of psoriasis have been confirmed in practice.

The second type of Chinese psoriasis patches is known in the medical community under the name Quannaide Xinmeisu Tiegao, which, according to some sources, sounds like "clear skin" when translated from the manufacturer's language. But I won't say for sure. Sometimes this patch is called a fighter against the main symptom of the disease - psoriatic plaques.

As for the composition of the patches, it is generally the same: a breathable hypoallergenic fabric base impregnated with a medicinal mixture consisting of camphor and eucalyptus oil, fluocinonide, borneol and methyl salicylate. Each component of the medicinal composition provides the patches with some useful action in the treatment of the disease. The general therapeutic effect of each of the patches is determined by the ratio of the various components in the composition of the drug.

Pharmacodynamics

The Chinese patch "Tender Skin", which provides complex treatment and a long period of relief from various manifestations of psoriasis, has the following beneficial effects:

  • effectively combats inflammation and swelling of tissues in areas affected by the disease,
  • helps strengthen the walls of blood vessels, thereby improving blood microcirculation and tissue nutrition,
  • has a softening effect on the skin, eliminating unaesthetic peeling,
  • preventing excessive division of epidermal cells, it actively fights such an unpleasant manifestation of psoriasis as psoriatic plaques, and, as a result, they become thinner and are virtually invisible on the body,
  • relieves the excruciating itching and pain that accompany cracking of the skin in the affected area,
  • activates regenerative processes in various layers of the skin.

The Chinese psoriasis patch Quannaide Xinmeisu Tiegao has similar effects, but it focuses on the anti-inflammatory and antihistamine effect. It allows you to completely get rid of plaques after several procedures. It is not for nothing that this drug is also called a plaque killer.

Pharmacokinetics

The pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of psoriasis patches, which are multi-component preparations, are directly dependent on the combined action of the components included in the medicinal impregnation for the fabric, and on the individual properties of each component:

  • Camphor oil is famous for its multiple beneficial properties: anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, wound healing, anesthetic, improving blood circulation,
  • eucalyptus oil also provides anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects, but in addition to this, it also promotes tissue regeneration,
  • fluocinonide, being a steroid hormone for local use, provides the patches with an anti-allergic effect, due to which inflammation and itching go away,
  • borneol effectively soothes inflamed skin, and also fights itching and flaking. It has an analgesic, healing, antiseptic and tonic effect,
  • Methyl salicylate (methyl ester of salicylic acid) is a good anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent, which is included in the composition of special preparations for external use. It is able to improve blood circulation and provide good penetrating properties to other components of the medicinal composition of the patches.

Dosing and administration

In order to get the expected result from any medicine, it is absolutely necessary to follow the instructions attached to the drug. Otherwise, the effect may not be as positive as we expect. And the likelihood of developing side effects of drugs when not following the method of application and dosage of drugs, including Chinese patches for psoriasis, increases many times over.

Since psoriasis patches are an external remedy, the therapeutic effect of which is due to the need for the drug to penetrate the skin, the preparation of the affected surface for the therapeutic effect plays a major role. The skin in the area affected by psoriasis should be thoroughly washed with warm water. To soften it, you can apply a clean cloth soaked in warm water for a short time.

Before applying the patch, to ensure its complete adhesion, the cleansed and softened skin is thoroughly dried with a dry cloth.

Preparing the patch itself involves two steps: cutting it into pieces that exactly match the size of the psoriatic plaques, and removing the thin protective film that protects the adhesive surface from clogging and damage.

The patch of the required size is glued to dry skin and only to the diseased areas of the body. The medicinal patch cannot be glued to healthy skin.

Psoriasis patches can be left on the skin for a period of 1 to 3 days. After which the used piece of patch is removed, the skin is thoroughly washed with clean water and rests for 4-5 hours. During this period, any medicinal cream for psoriasis can be applied to the damaged area of the body (for example, "Picladol", Chinese cream "King of Skin", Swiss nano-gel for psoriasis, "Daivonex", "Super psoriasis cream", etc.).

Before applying a new patch, the skin must be washed and dried again. If the patch peels off the skin or shifts slightly to the side while being worn, it must be replaced with a new one. To avoid such troubles, you can additionally fix the psoriasis patch with a regular adhesive plaster. This recommendation is especially useful if the affected areas are located on "movable" areas of the skin in the area of the joints or on the hands.

In hot weather, the patch can be applied not for the entire day, but for the period when the person is in a cool room.

Use of the psoriasis patch during pregnancy

The use of psoriasis patches during pregnancy and breastfeeding is limited. This is due to the presence of substances in the composition, the effect of which on the fetus and the course of pregnancy has not been sufficiently studied. Such substances include corticosteroids and methyl salicylate.

The use of patches during pregnancy can only be carried out according to the doctor's instructions. Breastfeeding should be stopped during the treatment of psoriasis with the help of medicinal patches.

Contraindications

Chinese psoriasis patches, like any medication, may have their own contraindications for use. Some of them, such as hypersensitivity to individual components of the drug or to the drug as a whole, are a consequence of an inadequate individual immune (allergic) reaction of the body. And others may be associated with the specific properties of some components of the drug, for example, camphor oil, methyl salicylate or the corticosteroid fluocinonide.

Thus, preparations with camphor oil are not recommended for use in the treatment of children under 2 years of age. Methyl salicylate is used with caution in patients with bronchial asthma and impaired liver or kidney function and is not used at all if the patient has a history of allergy to salicylic acid derivatives or NSAIDs. Such treatment is also not indicated for children, as well as in the presence of wounds and ulcers in the affected area.

It is also not advisable to expose children to the toxic effects of corticosteroids, such as fluocinonide.

Manufacturers do not recommend using the patch in the area of skin folds or on the face. It is not advisable to carry out treatment with patches in hot weather due to the high probability of developing a greenhouse effect, which reduces the therapeutic effect to nothing.

Side effects of the psoriasis patch

Usually, provided that the instructions are followed, the drug is well tolerated by patients, without having a negative effect on the body. Side effects of patches with a rich medicinal composition remind of themselves if the patient has increased sensitivity to any of the components of the patch or if the time frame for therapeutic effect and rest is not observed.

Overdose

The optimal time for psoriasis patches to be applied to the skin is considered to be 48 hours (2 days). During this time, the medicinal composition penetrates the patient's body without causing an overdose. Leaving the patch on the skin for a longer time (without a break) is not recommended in order to avoid the development of local skin atrophy, when the skin itself becomes unable to independently perform its functions due to thinning.

The following situations are manifestations of individual intolerance to the drug: the appearance of irritation and rash in places where the patch is applied (contact dermatitis), pustules on the skin (folliculitis), the formation of areas with a pronounced vascular network due to the expansion of blood vessels. Such symptoms should alert the patient, since further treatment with Chinese patches for psoriasis can be dangerous to health. In this case, it is recommended to choose another remedy.

Interactions with other drugs

Chinese psoriasis patches are suitable for people of different ages and do not require dose adjustments of other drugs when used together.

Drug interactions with other drugs are observed only in relation to one component of the medicinal composition of the patches - methyl salicylate. We are talking about the simultaneous use with drugs that cause a reflex increase in microcirculation at the site of application of the patch. Methyl salicylate is able to increase the absorption of such drugs, as a result of which negative reactions associated with an overdose of these drugs may develop. Therefore, when using medicinal creams in between, you need to pay attention to the effect they have.

Storage conditions

However, in order for them not to lose their properties, certain storage conditions must be observed.

Psoriasis patches should be stored at low temperatures in a dry place with limited access to sunlight. They should not be frozen, as this will negatively affect both the therapeutic properties and the ability of the patch to stay on the skin on its own.

Shelf life

When buying a patch online, you should definitely pay attention to the integrity of the packaging and whether the expiration date of the drug has expired. The shelf life of Chinese psoriasis patches is 2 years.

Patient Reviews

Psoriasis is an insidious and difficult to cure disease. It is believed that it is impossible to get rid of it completely, and there are not many effective medications that provide long-awaited relief for a more or less long period. Some remedies are good, but require long-term treatment, and the result must be waited for many months. Others, although they provide a quick result, have many contraindications and side effects. Treatment with others, due to their high price, is not available to everyone.

Chinese-made psoriasis patches, according to reviews from happy patients, are not only affordable, but also have an enviable speed of action, delighting with new positive changes in the skin every day. The estimated duration of psoriasis treatment with patches is 3-4 weeks (about 15 procedures). However, many notice obvious positive changes in the skin after just one or two applications of the patch.

Itching and peeling subside already from the first applications or during the first week. It is noted that this time is enough for new rashes to disappear. For "rooted" hardened plaques, the use of the patch will be longer, however, during the monthly treatment, patients will notice new good results after each change of the patch. The plaques will become thinner, the skin will acquire a pleasant soft pink color.

Positive results from the use of the drug are also observed in other pathologies described in the indications for the use of patches for psoriasis. Itching and peeling go away, external manifestations of diseases that cause hostility and even disgust in others disappear.

Yes, Chinese psoriasis patches, like other medications, cannot rid the patient of an incurable disease forever. But they give hope for a full and happy life to people who consider themselves second-class citizens because of the unaesthetic manifestations of the disease, which affects both self-esteem and the attitude of others towards the patients (“what if it’s contagious?”). If the patches are used regularly during relapses, when new fresh rashes appear, the treatment will be short-lived, and the person will be able to feel healthy and happy again in a short time. And this is important if we are talking about a disease that you have to fight throughout your life.
