Indications Camphor oil
It is used in the treatment of arthritis, sciatica, rheumatism, arthralgia, itching and myositis.

Release form
It is released in the form of a liquid for skin treatment, in glass bottles with a capacity of 25 or 30 ml.

Pharmacodynamics
When applied locally, the drug has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, analgesic and distracting properties, and at the same time relieves skin itching.
Such effects are provided by the oxygen element present inside the camphor molecule, which has functional activity. It has a strong oxidizing potential, destroys the cell walls of microbes and active ligaments that provoke pain, inflammation and irritation in the area of sensitive skin endings.
Dosing and administration
Camphor oil is prescribed for monotherapeutic procedures, as well as in combination with substances such as turpentine, methyl salicylate and other medications for local use.
The preparation is applied to the skin using compresses and rubbing. The scheme of use, the number of applications, and their duration are determined taking into account the nature of the disease, its severity, and the nature of the concomitant treatment.
Use Camphor oil during pregnancy
Only a doctor can prescribe a medicine after first assessing the benefit-risk ratio for the woman and the fetus.
Contraindications
Main contraindications:
- the presence of high sensitivity to the elements of the drug;
- bronchial asthma;
- the presence of damage on the skin surface associated with burns;
- damaged integrity of the skin, as well as the presence of pustules.
Side effects Camphor oil
The use of Camphor oil can lead to the development of such disorders:
- skin lesions: signs of allergy, including rash, itching, hives and irritation with redness. In addition, dermatitis (including its contact form);
- disorders in the functioning of the nervous system: the appearance of convulsions;
- manifestations from the respiratory system: development of spasms in the bronchi.

Overdose
In case of overdose, the severity of side effects may increase, as well as burning and severe warming at the treatment site.
If the liquid is accidentally swallowed, one can expect the development of vomiting with nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and in addition to this, signs of CNS depression, dizziness, convulsions, ataxia and hot flashes, as well as problems with the respiratory process and a feeling of drowsiness.
Storage conditions
Camphor oil should be kept in a place out of reach of children. The temperature should be a maximum of 25°C.

Shelf life
Camphor oil can be used for 2 years from the date of manufacture of the drug.
Application for children
It is prohibited to use in children, because there is no experience of using the drug in this group.
