Very often, tonsillitis is treated with antibiotics. One of these drugs is Bioparox. Let's consider features of the given medicine and a rule of its application.
Angina is an acute infectious disease that occurs with viral damage of components of the lymphatic pharyngeal ring - tonsils. Refers to the most common pathologies of the upper respiratory tract.
- Painful condition in 85% of cases is associated with streptococcal infection, less common pneumococcus, staphylococcus or mixed microflora.
- On the symptomatology the tonsillitis reminds cold, but it is transferred much more hardly. The body temperature rises to 39 ° C, there are sharp pains in the throat, which increase with swallowing and eating. Lymph nodes, tonsils and soft palate are hyperemic.
The danger of sore throat not only in its acute course and painful symptoms, but also in the fact that the patient is the carrier of pathogenic microorganisms. Bacteria are secreted into the environment during a cough or conversation. Timely treatment can effectively eliminate the disease and prevent its complications, as well as reduce the risk of contamination of others.
Treatment should be comprehensive. Patients prescribe a course of medicines, local treatment of sore throat, diet and physiotherapy. Particular attention is paid to antibacterial therapy, whose action is aimed at the destruction of pathogenic flora.
For local treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases it is best to use inhalants such as Bioparox. It is part of the pharmacological group of polypeptide antibiotics. Contains the active substance - fusafungin, isolated from the culture of the fungus Fusarium lateritium. Has anti-inflammatory and bacteriostatic properties against a wide range of bacteria and fungi.
Indications Bioparox with angina
Bioparox is prescribed for local effects on the inflammation focus. Active components are distributed in the oral cavity and nasopharynx, destroying pathogens. The main indications for its use are acute inflammatory diseases of the ENT organs and upper respiratory tract.
The medicine is used in such cases:
- Tonsillite
- Tracheitis.
- Bronchitis.
- Laryngit.
- Rhinopharyngitis.
- Rhinitis.
- Sinusit.
- Pharyngitis.
Bioparox is also suitable for the prevention of infectious complications after tonsillectomy.

Bioparox with purulent sore throat
It is the purulent form of tonsillitis that causes the greatest concern. The most effective method of treatment is antibacterial drugs that act directly on the affected tissue. Bioparox is used topically. Aerosol irrigates inflamed mucous membranes, destroys pathogens, preventing complications of the disease.
If antibiotics of systemic action are used to treat purulent sore throat, then Bioparox is not prescribed. It should be noted that the drug is most effective in treating early stages of tonsillitis.
Release form
The antibacterial agent is available in the form of an aerosol for topical application. The drug is available in 20 ml dosed aluminum cans. In combination with the medicine there are two nozzles of the nebulizer. One canister is designed for 400 doses.
Pharmacodynamics
Bioparox has bacteriostatic and fungistatic properties. Its active components are built into the bacterial cell membrane, disrupting its work. This leads to the loss of pathogenic microorganisms ability to multiply, migrate, adhere and produce exotoxins.
The antibiotic is sensitive to such pathogens:
- Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus group A, B, C, G), Moraxella catarrhalis, Listeria monocytogenes, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Pasteurella multocida, Bacillus subtilis and some strains of Neisseria spp.
- Anaerobic bacteria: Propionibacterium acnes, Clostridium butyricum, Clostridium perfringens и Streptococcus mutans.
- Mycoplasma spp., Actinomycetes and fungi of the genus Candida.
Also, the drug has anti-inflammatory properties. Oppresses the synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines, reducing swelling of the affected tissues. The drug does not exhibit cross-resistance with antibiotics of systemic use.
Pharmacokinetics
When inhaled, fusafungin is not absorbed into the systemic circulation, but accumulates on the mucous membrane of the oropharynx and nose. In a small amount, the active substance can be detected in the blood plasma. But this is absolutely safe for the body, since the maximum plasma concentration does not exceed 1 ng / ml.
After the administration of 3-4 doses through the oral cavity, different concentrations of fusafungin are created in the respiratory tract:
- On the mucous membrane of the lungs - 80 mcg / ml.
- On the mucosa of the trachea and bronchi is 40 μg / ml.
- On the mucosa of the nasal cavity - 60 mcg / ml.
If the drug is administered through the nose, then the maximum concentration of the active ingredient in the mucus is observed after three hours and is 2000 μg / l. The drug is excreted from the body with the secret of the respiratory tract.
Dosing and administration
Bioparox in angina is used for inhalation through the mouth. The dosage of the drug and the course of treatment depend on the severity of tonsillitis, so they are determined by the doctor individually for each patient.
- Patients over 12 years of age are prescribed 4 doses per mouth 3-4 times a day.
- For children from 2.5 to 12 years - 2-4 injections 3-4 times a day.
A balloon with the drug should be shaken well and made a couple of strokes, then put on a white nozzle. Spray the aerosol vertically, tightly holding the mouthpiece inserted into the mouth. On inspiration, they press the base of the balloon and hold their breath for a couple of seconds for better irrigation of the trachea and bronchi.
The duration of therapy should not exceed 7 days. Used nozzles should be disinfected daily with a solution of ethyl alcohol or another disinfectant.
Bioparox with angina in adults
Tonsillitis in adults occurs as often as among children. The painful condition is most often associated with staphylococci, streptococci or other pathogens. Symptoms are manifested by the action of such factors:
- Decreased general or local immunity.
- Subcooling the body.
- Injuries of the tonsils.
- Impaired breathing.
- Chronic inflammatory processes in the nose, oral cavity, paranasal sinuses.
Because the disease has an infectious nature, antibacterial, antimicrobial and other drugs are used for treatment that facilitate the course of the disease and destroy its pathogens.
Bioparox with angina in adults struggles with pathogens, it stops inflammation, removes swelling from affected tissues, improving breathing. Aerosol is used for inhalation through the mouth. The drug is administered at 4 doses 3-4 times a day for 7 days. You can only use an antibiotic as directed by your doctor.
Bioparox with angina in children
Treatment of tonsillitis in children should be comprehensive. Babies are prescribed the safest and at the same time effective drugs. An obligatory component of therapy is antibiotics, whose action is directed at the destruction of pathogens.
For children older than 2.5 years appoint Bioparox. The drug is a polypeptide antibacterial topical agent. Its active components act directly on the lesion. Aerosol is injected through the mouth for 3-4 doses up to 4 times a day. The duration of treatment should not exceed 5-7 days.

Use Bioparox with angina during pregnancy
A drug with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Active aerosol components are not absorbed into the bloodstream and do not have systemic action. Because of this, some doctors consider the drug safe while carrying the baby. However, bioparox clinical studies have not been conducted on pregnant women, so there is no absolute certainty that the remedy is safe for the fetus.
The use of an inhaler for the treatment of angina is possible when the expected benefit to the mother is higher than the potential harm to the fetus. This takes into account the high risks of bronchospasm development due to injection of the drug into the pharynx. Also, an antibiotic is not recommended during lactation. When it is prescribed, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
Contraindications
The main contraindication to Bioparox is hypersensitivity to its components. Also, the drug is not prescribed in such cases:
- Patients younger than 2.5 years of age because of the high risk of developing laryngospasm.
- Propensity to allergic reactions.
- Propensity to bronchospasm.
During the treatment, do not spray the aerosol into the eyes. If this happens, immediately flush eyes with plenty of clean running water and seek medical help.
Side effects Bioparox with angina
Bioparox is well tolerated by patients, but in some cases, adverse reactions occur:
- Respiratory system and ENT organs: dryness of the mucous membranes of the nose and throat, burning in the throat, sneezing, spasms, respiratory failure, laryngospasm.
- Gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting.
- Sense organs: unpleasant taste in the mouth, tear, redness of the eyes.
- Allergic reactions: skin rashes, itching, hives, anaphylactic shock.
If these symptoms appear, stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor. If the aerosol became the cause of anaphylactic shock, then intramuscular injection of adrenaline 0.01 mg / kg is shown, if necessary, the injection is repeated again after 15-20 minutes. When using this antibiotic for more than 7 days, there is a risk of developing superinfection.
Overdose
Exceeding the prescribed dosage or treatment for more than 7 days leads to the development of adverse symptoms on the part of many organs and systems. Overdose manifests itself as circulatory disorders of varying severity. Most often, patients are confronted with:
- Tachycardia.
- A feeling of numbness in the mouth.
- Headaches and dizziness.
- Increased pain and burning in the throat.
Treatment is symptomatic with withdrawal of the drug and compulsory medical consultation.
Interactions with other drugs
Since Bioparox is applied topically, it is permissible to interact with systemic drugs: oral and injectable forms.
Antibiotic is contraindicated to combine with any alcohol-containing drugs or drinks. As there is a chemical reaction of its molecules with ethanol, which leads to the accumulation in the body of a toxic substance - acetaldehyde.
Intoxication is manifested by headaches, rapid breathing, convulsions, and heart rhythm disturbances. All drug interactions should be resolved by the attending physician.
Storage conditions
A balloon with an aerosol antibiotic should be stored in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight and out of reach of children. The medicine should not be exposed to high temperatures. The optimum storage temperature is 22-25 ° C.
Shelf life
According to the instructions for use, Bioparox should be used within 24 months from the date of its production, which is indicated on the package and aerosol can. The overdue product should be disposed of. Empty can not be heated and pierced.
Reviews
The preparation Bioparoks, appointed for the treatment of angina, has established itself in the treatment of both adults and children. Reviews about its application are diverse. Many patients note that in the early stages of tonsillitis the antibiotic quickly stops the inflammatory process and speeds up the recovery. While with a more severe course of the infectious disease, monotherapy with Bioparox is not effective. The drug is approved for use as an over-the-counter medication, but before using it, you should consult your doctor.
