The combined preparation Belosalik lotion refers to topical corticosteroid agents used in dermatology to relieve inflammation, irritation, desquamation and pruritic skin.

Indications of the belosalika lotion

Belosalik lotion is intended for symptomatic treatment of chronic dermatoses with increased keratinization of epithelial keratinocytes and their desquamation (sluschivaniem): allergodermatosis (atopic dermatitis, urticaria, eczema); seborrhea and seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp; diffuse keratoma (ichthyosis); psoriasis of the scalp.

Release form

Belosalik lotion - solution in vials of 50-100 ml (with a dropper or nozzle for spraying) - only for external use.

The therapeutic effect of Belosalik lotion is provided by its active components - the synthetic homon of the adrenal cortex (corticosteroid) betamethasone in the form of dipropionate and salicylic (2-hydroxybenzoic) acid.

Betamethasone with external application promotes the removal of inflammatory, allergic and hyperproliferative skin reaction by binding to cell receptors and their DNA, which increases the synthesis of the lipocortin protein that inhibits the activity of the intracellular enzyme phospholipase A2. A further mechanism consists in blocking the release of arachidonic and lysophosphatidic acids and subsequent modification of their cyclooxygenases (COX 1 and COX 2) into active compounds - anti-inflammatory and inflammatory mediators (eicosanoids, prostaglandins, leukotrienes).

In addition, glucocorticosteroids (GCS), including betamethasone dipropionate, inhibit the synthesis of T- and B-lymphocytes, tissue immunoglobulins (IgE and IgG), and also reduce the yield of histamine from mast cells, which alleviates the symptoms of an allergic reaction.

Salicylic acid in the composition of Belosalik lotion acts as an antiseptic and keratolytic, that is, does not allow the infection to develop and soften the keratinized skin particles.

A small amount of betamethasone in the lotion Belosalik enters the bloodstream and binds to proteins; biotransformation of GCS occurs in the liver, and metabolites are excreted in the urine and feces.

Use of the belosalika lotion during pregnancy

Salicylic acid is contraindicated for pregnant women, in addition, there is no evidence of safety of topical corticosteroids for intrauterine development of the fetus. Therefore Belosalik Lotion during pregnancy is not used.

Belosalik lotion is contraindicated to use if available:
