Release form
The drug Aviomarin is available in the form of tablets 50 mg.
Pharmacodynamics
Dimenhydrinate is classified as a histamine H1 receptor blocker (ethanolamine group). In addition to the antihistamine effect, drugs of this group are characterized by the provision of antiemetic, sedative and M-anticholinergic effects.
Dimenhydrinate has an antiemetic effect, which is based on the suppression of the vomiting centers. It is enhanced by the M-cholinolytic effect, when the tone of smooth muscles and peristalsis in the gastrointestinal tract decreases, the salivary glands and stomach weaken their secretion.

Pharmacokinetics
Oral use of dimenhydrinate promotes its rapid absorption. Half an hour after use, its concentration in the blood plasma reaches its maximum, and it lasts for three to six hours.
Blood plasma proteins form a bond with dimenhydrinate (98 - 99%). The liver biotransforms Aviomarin, then it is completely eliminated from the body by the kidneys within 24 hours. Three and a half hours is the half-life of Aviomarin from the body.

Use Aviomarina during pregnancy
Aviomarin is contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy. It is used with extreme caution when the first trimester of pregnancy is already over, as well as during lactation. And still, Aviomarin is used only when there is an extreme need for it. During the labor period, dimenhydrinate in some cases leads to hyperstimulation of the uterus and bradycardia that threatens the child.
Contraindications
Contraindications to the use of Aviomarin are the presence of:
- hypersensitivity to the components of Aviomarin (especially attention to dimenhydrinate);
- eclampsia, epilepsy;
- acute exudative and vesicular dermatoses;
- renal failure;
- first trimester of pregnancy;
- children under two years of age.
Side effects Aviomarina
Side effects of Aviomarin are:
- weakness;
- fatigue;
- drowsy state;
- difficulty concentrating;
- anxiety;
- nausea;
- gagging;
- diarrhea;
- constipation;
- feeling of dryness of the oral mucosa;
In rare cases, Aviomarin impairs vision (weakening of night vision and color perception), and in some cases, hemolytic anemia, dizziness, decreased blood pressure, insomnia, and dysuria have been reported.
Overdose
When a significant overdose of Aviomarin occurs, the following symptoms are observed: breathing slows down, convulsions, psychosis with hallucinations, delirium, drowsiness, dizziness are observed, to the point that a person can fall into a coma.
There is no specific antidote for Aviomarin. To remove the clinical manifestations of overdose, the stomach is usually washed, enterosorbents and saline laxatives are prescribed.
Interactions with other drugs
If Aviomarin interacts with sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, antidepressants, antipsychotics (neuroleptics), antiepileptic drugs and alcohol, the suppressive effect of these drugs on the human central nervous system is enhanced.
When using Aviomarin, the anticholinergic effect of other drugs may be enhanced. Ototoxic agents (for example, aminoglycosides) in interaction with Aviomarin may hide the presence of their side effects.
When Aviomarin is used with bismuth, scopolamine, and painkillers and psychotropic drugs, the patient's vision may deteriorate.
Aviomarin and ototoxic antibiotics are incompatible: it is better not to use it simultaneously with streptomycin, neomycin, kanamycin, amikacin. The fact is that the presence of the main active component - dimenhydrinate - can mask hearing damage.
Corticosteroids, anticoagulants, and apomorphine weaken their effect when combined with Aviomarin.
Storage conditions
The temperature at which Aviomarin is stored should be 15–25˚C. The place should be protected from exposure to light rays and light in general, and also inaccessible to children.
