Indications Aqua Marisa

Nasal spray is used:

• for diseases affecting the paranasal sinuses with the nose and nasopharynx (acute or chronic);
• to prevent or treat infections that occur in autumn and winter, and against their background inflammation is observed in the nasal cavity;
• when dryness of the nasal mucosa develops, which is observed when in rooms with central heating or air conditioning, in very dry or harsh climatic conditions, and also when it is necessary to work in excessively dusty rooms;
• people working in hot workshops or smoking;
• for runny nose of allergic origin, especially in pregnant or lactating mothers;
• for some time after surgical operations performed on the nose;
• when adenoids appear.

The medication with a nozzle used for ear irrigation is prescribed:

• to soften and remove earwax that has appeared in the ears;
• as a means of preventing the formation of earwax plugs;
• as a hygiene product for people who wear a hearing aid, headset or headphones, and also after a long stay in a dusty place.

The medicinal substance for the throat is used:

• in acute forms of diseases of inflammatory and, in addition, infectious origin (such as pharyngitis and tonsillitis, and, in addition, adenoiditis and laryngitis);
• as part of a combination treatment for the throat during acute respiratory viral infections;
• in people who live in dry, dusty rooms or unfavorable climatic conditions, and also in those who suffer from dryness in the mucous membrane on the back of the throat.

Release form

The medicine is released in bottles with a volume of 30 ml and equipped with a special spray nozzle. There is 1 such bottle inside the box. The children's medicine also includes a corresponding nozzle for the nose of small children. A separate nozzle is also used for cleaning the ears.

The medicine in drops is produced in 10 ml bottles. There is 1 bottle inside the pack.

Aqua Maris Oto is sold in 0.1 g bottles.

The ointment, which is used for external treatment, is available in 10 g tubes. The package contains 1 such tube.

Pharmacodynamics

The medication contains a sterilized salty liquid enriched with various types of ionic compounds.

Calcium and magnesium ions activate the activity of the ciliated epithelium. Selenium with zinc promote the production of antibodies, and in addition, stimulate local immune impulses of cells. Iodine with sodium chloride are antiseptics, and also stimulate the work of epithelial cells with a goblet structure.

Aqua Maris has a mild disinfectant and anti-inflammatory effect, gently softening crusts and excreting microbial waste products. The medicine also increases the effectiveness of other drugs, reduces the likelihood of infection and stabilizes the production of sulfur or mucus inside the ENT organs.

The element ectoine protects cells and tissues from dehydration, and is also a bioprotector for mucosal cell membranes.

The essential oils contained in the saline composition for treating the sinuses have a disinfecting and softening effect.

Dexpanthenol activates the healing processes of the mucous membrane, stabilizes metabolism and increases the strength of cell walls.

A medicinal element used to treat the lip area and around the nose, it eliminates inflammation and at the same time softens the epidermis. It is very effective in treating sinusitis or runny nose.

Pharmacokinetics

The medication has a mainly local effect, so it is not subject to general absorption. It does not accumulate inside the body and does not contain preservatives, which is why it can be prescribed to children.

Dosing and administration

The spray is administered intranasally or through the external auditory canal (if there is an appropriate nozzle).

Using the spray.

For a child over 2 years old and an adult - 1-2 injections into each nostril, 4 times a day. More frequent procedures are also allowed.

Before initial use, it is necessary to make several empty sprays - to equalize the pressure balance inside the bottle. It is also necessary to take into account that the sprayer functions only when the can is positioned vertically.

After completing the procedure, wipe the spray nozzle using a damp cloth and close the bottle with a lid.

The throat aerosol is used in a dose of 3-4 sprays, 4-6 times per day. The spray head must be directed to the back of the throat.

Methods of using drops.

Drops are often prescribed to newborns and infants under 12 months. The required dosage is 1-2 drops inside each nostril; the procedure is carried out 2-4 times per day. The duration of the treatment cycle is 14-30 days. After 1 month, this course can be repeated.

The medicinal substance is allowed to be instilled or sprayed into the nasal passage until excess nasal secretions and accumulations inside the nose are removed.

Mode of use of Aquamaris Oto.

The medication is usually used to treat the external auditory canal. It can be used by children over 3 years of age. The substance is supposed to be used 2-3 times/7 days, once a day. If there is an urgent need to use it, the procedures can be carried out daily.

The procedure must be performed over a bathtub or sink. You need to tilt your head to the right, insert the nozzle into the right ear (respectively, for the left - to the left), and press it. The remaining liquid is wiped off with a dry napkin.

Using medicinal ointment.

The ointment, which is intended for external treatment, is used for application to areas of the epidermis that are constantly exposed to the negative effects of frost or mechanical injuries. Before the procedure, it is necessary to clean the specified area of the epidermis from dirt, and then wipe it dry.

The ointment should be applied half an hour before going outside. Also, immediately before leaving the house, it is recommended to blot your nose and lips with a napkin.

Use Aqua Marisa during pregnancy

Aqua Maris is often prescribed during pregnancy, because it does not contain preservatives, as well as harmful or toxic elements for the fetus. The portion sizes and the scheme of use of the drug during lactation, as well as pregnancy, do not differ from the standard regimen of use.

Contraindications

Main contraindications:

• the presence of intolerance to any of the medicinal substances;
• frequent nosebleeds;
• the occurrence of tumors in the nasal cavity;
• complete blockage of the nasal passages.

Metered dose nasal spray is not recommended for use in infants under 12 months of age.

It is prohibited to prescribe Aquamaris Oto to children under 3 years of age - in the acute stage of otitis or in the exacerbation of chronic otitis.

Do not insert the tip of the nozzle deep into the ear.

The use of the medication may provoke the appearance of allergy symptoms, which are usually local in nature.

Interactions with other drugs

It is recommended to maintain 15-minute intervals between the use of Aqua Maris and other local preparations.

Storage conditions

Aqua Maris should be kept in a place protected from moisture, at standard temperature marks. The spray can under high pressure should be kept away from fire (do not allow the temperature to rise above 50°C).

Shelf life

Aqua Maris spray can be used within 36 months from the date of release of the drug, and nasal drops have a 2-year shelf life.

In this case, an opened bottle can be used for no longer than 45 days from the moment it is opened.

Application for children

Infants under 12 months should be prescribed drops that are used for newborns. This form of release is highly effective and safely eliminates various contaminants in the nasal passages of infants.

In addition, this drug should be used to prevent or treat rhinitis in a small child.
