Pharmacodynamics
Iron is considered an extremely important component for the normal and stable functioning of the body. The element is located in the structure of cytochromes with hemoglobins, as well as myoglobin, and in addition is a participant in the process of transporting oxygen into all tissues with organs; iron also stimulates erythropoiesis.

Pharmacokinetics
The absorption of active elements of Actiferrin occurs inside the duodenum, as well as the upper part of the small intestine. About 15% of iron is absorbed here. But with extremely low rates of hemoglobin and enhanced erythropoiesis in a patient, these values can increase up to 50%. After 3 hours, the drug reaches the plasma level of Cmax.

Overdose
Intoxication most often develops in children. Even in the case of taking the 1st g of a drug, there may be a threat to the life of the child, because of which the medicine must be kept in a place where children cannot reach.
The manifestations of overdose: vomiting, vascular collapse or shock, nausea, diarrhea and drowsiness. After 5 hours from the moment of the development of the first signs, improvement of the state of health is possible, but already after 12-48 hours a significant deterioration of the clinical picture may occur. Development of a coagulopathy, a shock state, insufficiency of hepatic function of toxic character and periodic breath is noted.
Hepatitis of a toxic nature can cause the development of jaundice and the appearance of disorders in the field of NA, reaching a comatose state. With timely treatment, the risk of death is significantly reduced.
To eliminate the disorders, gastric lavage is first performed using phosphate or bicarbonate solutions, after which the patient needs to eat a raw egg and drink milk.

It is proven by clinical trials that hemodialysis will be ineffective. Peritoneal dialysis can be performed.

Interactions with other drugs
The digestibility of ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin with tetracycline, penicylamine with norfloxacin and levodopa, and besides that, levofloxacin with carbidopa and methyldopa may deteriorate under the influence of Aktiferrin, which will require a dosage change.
The combination of iron salts with zinc, as well as thyroxin, leads to a deterioration in the gastric absorption of the drug.
Vitamin C together with citric acid potentiate the degree of iron absorption.
Magnesium with cholestyramine and calcium with chloramphenicol, and besides this magnesium, calcium and aluminum-containing antacids with bismuth weaken the processes of iron resorption.
Combination with GCS contributes to the potentiation of erythropoiesis processes.
Vitamin E reduces the activity of iron inside the body (especially for children).
Storage conditions
Actiferrin is required to be kept in a place closed to access of small children. Temperature indicators - within 25 ° C.
Shelf life
