Adzhizim is a medicine for improving digestion. Let's consider the rules of its use, dosage, contraindications, and the possibility of interaction with other drugs.

The medicine belongs to the category of pancreatic enzymes: amylase, lipase and protease. Facilitates the digestion process, accelerates the digestion of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Promotes complete absorption of microelements in the small intestine. It is used for diseases of the pancreas. Its action is associated with compensation for the insufficiency of the exocrine function and improvement of the digestion process.

Indications Ajizim

In many diseases of the pancreas, drugs are used that are aimed at accelerating the digestion process, that is, facilitating the work of the organ. Indications for the use of Adzhizim are based on the insufficiency of the exocrine function of the pancreas of various genesis:

  • Chronic pancreatitis.
  • Total gastrectomy.
  • Improving digestion when overeating.
  • Cystic fibrosis.
  • Pancreatectomy.
  • Oncological diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Condition before and after surgery with anastomosis on the gastrointestinal tract (gastric resection according to Bilroth II, obstruction of the bile or pancreatic duct with exocrine lesions of the pancreas).
  • Preparation for ultrasound or X-ray of abdominal organs.

The drug is available without a prescription, but before using it, it is better to consult with your doctor.

Release form

Adzhizim is available in tablet form. A cardboard package contains three blisters of 10 tablets each. The active substance is pancreatin, each tablet contains 212.5 mg (corresponds to the enzymatic activity: amylase - 4500 FIP / U, lipase - 6000 FIP / U, protease - 300 FIP / U).

The auxiliary components are: colloidal silicon dioxide, propylene glycol, macrogol, microcrystalline cellulose and other substances. The tablets are round, covered with a protective shell that does not dissolve in the acidic contents of the stomach, protecting digestive enzymes from the action of the pH of the gastric juice.

Pharmacodynamics

In its mechanism of action, Adzhizim is similar to substances that improve digestion: lipase, protease, amylase. The pharmacodynamics of pancreatic enzymes promotes the digestion of fats, proteins and carbohydrates, improving the absorption process in the small intestine. The enzyme preparation participates in biochemical reactions and physiological functions of the body. The active substances compensate for the exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration, the active components are released from the tablet shell only in the alkaline environment of the small intestine, since the capsules are protected from the action of gastric juice. Pharmacokinetics indicates maximum enzymatic activity 30-45 minutes after oral administration.

Since the active components of the drug are not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, they are not detected in the systemic bloodstream. Adzhizim is inactivated by hydrolysis and digestion processes. Some of the non-hydrolyzed enzymes are excreted unchanged in feces, the rest in urine.

Dosing and administration

In order for the treatment to be effective, the method of application and doses of Adzhizim are selected by the attending physician, individually for each patient. The dosage depends on the degree of pancreatic insufficiency.

Adult patients are prescribed 1-2 tablets 3 times a day during or after meals. The tablets should be swallowed whole, without chewing, and washed down with water. The daily dosage for adults is 6 tablets, but if necessary (severe digestive disorders) it can be increased. The maximum available dosage is 16 tablets per day.

The dosage for children is determined by the doctor, it is calculated as 1 tablet per 12 kg of body weight at each meal. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease, so taking the drug can be from several days to several months and even years. With long-term therapy, it is necessary to additionally take iron preparations.
