Adjiflux is a drug of combined action. Let's consider the features of its use, contraindications, dosage and other rules of the instruction.

The drug is prescribed to patients with various gastrointestinal diseases. The therapeutic effect is due to the components included in its composition. The drug has antacid (neutralization of gastric acid), adsorbent (absorption of various substances from gases and liquids by the surface layer of the gastrointestinal tract), enveloping, choleretic and carminative properties.

Indications Agiflux

Treatment of gastrointestinal diseases is a long process that involves not only drug therapy, but also a special diet and lifestyle changes. Medicines are selected based on the severity of the disease and the individual characteristics of the patient's body.

Release form

Adjiflux is available in tablet form, as well as in gel and suspension form. One chewable tablet contains: 400 mg of aluminum hydroxide gel dry and 400 mg of magnesium hydroxide. The auxiliary components are: sucrose, povidone, sorbitol solution, sodium saccharin, colloidal silicon dioxide, peppermint oil, magnesium stearate.

The tablets are white, round, flat, sweet in taste. In one cardboard package there are two blisters of 10 tablets.

Pharmacodynamics

The mechanism of action of the drug is based on the effectiveness of the components in its composition. Pharmacodynamics of magnesium hydroxide indicates its laxative effect, algedrate has absorbent, enveloping and antacid properties.

The drug neutralizes free HCl in the gastrointestinal tract, reducing the activity of gastric juice. Binds bile acids that enter the stomach due to reflux from the duodenum, and inactivates pepsin. Has a protective effect on the gastrointestinal tract, accelerates the motility of all its sections. Does not cause alkalosis and secondary hypersecretion of HCl.

Pharmacokinetics

Adjiflux has low absorption. The therapeutic effect occurs within 15-30 minutes after application. The pharmacokinetics of the drug has not been studied in detail.

Dosing and administration

For effective treatment of various gastrointestinal pathologies, the method of administration and doses of Adzhiflux are selected by the attending physician. As a rule, patients are prescribed 2-3 tablets 1-2 hours after meals or before bedtime. In case of peptic ulcer, tablets are taken 30 minutes before meals. If necessary, a single dosage can be increased to 3-4 pieces per day. After achieving the desired therapeutic effect, maintenance therapy is indicated - 1-2 tablets per day for 2-3 months.

To increase the effectiveness of the drug, it is recommended to chew or dissolve the capsules until completely dissolved. Before using the suspension or gel, the bottle with the medicine should be shaken well, i.e. homogenized.

Use Agiflux during pregnancy

The possibility of using Adjiflux during pregnancy is determined by the attending physician, focusing on the condition of the woman's body and possible risks to the fetus. It is used with special caution during breastfeeding, since the active components can penetrate into breast milk.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated for use in case of individual intolerance to its components, Alzheimer's disease, hypophosphatemia, chronic renal failure and pregnancy. It is prescribed with special caution to patients under 12 years of age and during lactation.

Side effects Agiflux

Incorrect use of the drug may cause side effects. Adjiflux most often provokes attacks of nausea and vomiting, constipation, changes in taste sensations. Long-term use of high doses is dangerous due to the development of hypophosphatemia, hypercalciuria, osteoporosis, osteomalacia, hypocalcemia, encephalopathy, and renal dysfunction.

If the tablets are prescribed to patients with renal failure, there is a risk of decreased blood pressure, increased thirst and dry mouth, hyporeflexia.

Overdose

The use of increased doses of the drug may provoke adverse reactions of overdose. Patients experience the following symptoms: muscle weakness, increased fatigue, decreased tendon reflexes, osteoporosis, abdominal pain and intestinal obstruction, encephalopathy, cardiac arrhythmia, skin allergic reactions.

Treatment is symptomatic, and it is necessary to stop further use of the drug and seek medical attention.

Interactions with other drugs

Adjiflux may cause adverse reactions when interacting with other drugs. In order to prevent this, all drug combinations should be controlled by the attending physician. The tablets slow down and reduce the level of absorption of Digoxin, Indomethacin, Phenytoin, H2-histamine receptor blockers, tetracycline antibiotics, indirect coagulants, beta-blockers. When used with M-anticholinergics, gastric emptying slows down, the effect of Adjiflux is enhanced and prolonged.

Storage conditions

According to the storage conditions, the tablets must be kept in a dry place, protected from sunlight and out of reach of children. The recommended storage temperature is no higher than 25 °C. Failure to comply with the storage conditions leads to premature deterioration of the medicine.

Shelf life

Adjiflux is approved for use for 60 months from the date of manufacture. The expiration date is indicated on the drug packaging. After its expiration, the medication is contraindicated for use in medical purposes and must be disposed of.
