Indications Additive

The multivitamin complex Additiva is used in the treatment of hypo- and avitaminosis and replenishment of mineral deficiencies in adults and children over 12 years of age, with an increased need for vitamins and minerals during recovery from serious illnesses, antibiotic therapy, as well as during intense physical and mental stress.

Release form

The drug is available in effervescent tablets with orange flavor. Each tablet contains: vitamin B1 (3.75 mg), vitamin B2 (7 mg), vitamin B3 (37.5 mg), vitamin B5 (25 mg), vitamin B6 (4.25 mg), vitamin B7 (12.5 mcg), vitamin B9 (0.5 mg), vitamin B12 (12.5 mcg), vitamin C (187.5 mg), vitamin E (30 mg), as well as sodium bicarbonate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, potassium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate.

Pharmacodynamics

Water-soluble B vitamins, which are part of the drug Additiva, are absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and enter the blood plasma.

Vitamin B1 ensures the conversion of nutrients from food into energy; B2 supports the synthesis of hemoglobin; B3 (nicotinic acid, vitamin PP) promotes the biosynthesis of many hormones that ensure psychosomatic reactions and central nervous system functions.

Vitamin B5 is necessary for tissue regeneration and protection of epidermal cells and mucous membranes from pathogenic microbes, B6 is needed to maintain carbohydrate metabolism, normal functioning of the autonomic and central nervous systems, and the production of hemoglobin and hormones.

Vitamin B7 (biotin) is important for normal cholesterol levels, ensures good condition of skin, hair and nails. B9 (folic acid) ensures the synthesis of amino acids, proteins and DNA. B12 promotes cell regeneration and blood cell synthesis, ensures the stability of the structure of nerve fibers.

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that increases the body's resistance to infections, has a positive effect on the condition of the walls of blood vessels, and is involved in the synthesis of endogenous collagen. Vitamin E (tocopherol) is an antioxidant and antihypoxant that protects cells from the effects of free radicals and prevents the development of atherosclerosis, and also helps maintain normal levels of immunoglobulin production.

Calcium, sodium, magnesium and phosphorus included in the Additiva preparation participate in many biochemical processes in the body and regulate the permeability of cell membranes.

Pharmacokinetics

The pharmacokinetics of Additiva have not been studied, but the vitamins do not accumulate and are excreted from the body.

Dosing and administration

Method of administration of Additiv – orally. The daily dose of the drug is 1 tablet, which must be dissolved in 200 ml of water and drunk after meals. The standard course of treatment is 30 days.

Use Additive during pregnancy

The use of Additive during pregnancy is possible subject to assessment by the physician prescribing this drug of the balance between the benefits to the mother and the possible risk to the fetus.

Contraindications

The list of contraindications for Additiva includes:

  • individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
  • phenylketonuria (the drug contains food additive E951 - sweetener aspartame);
  • children under 12 years of age;
  • kidney disease, circulatory problems and a tendency to form blood clots.

Side effects Additive

The use of this vitamin complex may cause allergic reactions, nausea and vomiting associated with irritation of the stomach or intestines.

Orange urine coloration is a consequence of the removal of excess vitamin B2 from the body, which does not pose a threat.

Overdose

The official instructions for the drug state that there have been no reports of overdose with Additiv.

Interactions with other drugs

Additiva should not be taken simultaneously with other vitamin preparations and medicines containing calcium, potassium and magnesium.

Vitamin B6 reduces the effectiveness of the antiparkinsonian drug levodopa. Vitamin B9 can weaken the anticonvulsant effect of the drug phenytoin, used for epilepsy.

The simultaneous use of tricyclic antidepressants (iproniazid, nialamide, phenelzine, pirlindole, etc.) and the vitamin complex Additiva reduces the effectiveness of vitamin B2; acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) prevents the release of vitamin C, and preparations based on mineral oils impair the absorption of vitamin E.
