Vial contains the active ingredient tetrizolin, which has a decongestant and antiallergic effect. After local use, the drug stimulates the activity of α-adrenoreceptors of the autonomic NS, leading to vasoconstriction and weakening of tissue swelling. The drug reduces burning, soreness, irritation, tearing and itching.
Vasoconstrictor medication begins after a few minutes from the moment of use. Drug effect lasts up to 4 hours.
Vial does not change the size of the pupil.
Indications Vial
It is used in case of eye irritation and itching, swelling and hyperemia in the area of the conjunctiva, and in addition with burning, tearing and sclera injection under chemical or physical effects (dust, chlorinated water, cosmetics, too bright light, smoke, and contact lenses).
It is also prescribed for the treatment of conjunctivitis, which has an allergic nature.

Use Vial during pregnancy
Vial is prescribed during pregnancy or breastfeeding with extreme caution, because there is a small likelihood of systemic signs.
Contraindications
The main contraindications:
- glaucoma;
- corneal dystrophy with epidermal-endothelial character;
- severe intolerance associated with tetrizoline or other components of the drug.

With prolonged use, local symptoms may appear: conjunctival hyperemia or its irritation, as well as visual impairment. Occasionally, mydriasis may occur.
Sometimes there may be signs of personal intolerance to the drug.
Overdose
If you follow all instructions and recommendations overdose medication is impossible. But in young children there is an increased likelihood of tetrizoline poisoning associated with systemic absorption due to accidental ingestion of the drug.
Intoxication can lead to an increase in blood pressure, mydriasis, tachycardia, nausea, respiratory disorders and disorders of the nervous function. The absorption of large amounts of imidazole derivatives, which have α-sympathomimetic activity, may cause suppression of the central nervous system, as a result of which bradycardia, drowsiness or hypothermia develops.
If the drops are accidentally swallowed, gastric lavage should be performed and activated charcoal should be given to the patient; In addition, oxygen therapy is performed and anticonvulsants are administered. Symptomatic procedures are also prescribed. The antidote is missing.
Interactions with other drugs
The drug can be combined with other eye drops, but you need to observe a minimum 15-minute break between their applications.
Vial can not be combined with the IMAO.

Shelf life
Vial can be used for a 36-month term from the time a drug is sold. The opened bottle has a 28-day shelf life.
