Today in dermatology, quite often one has to deal with such a problem as hanging warts. This is a serious problem that not only brings discomfort to the patient, creates an unattractive appearance, but also represents a serious threat to human life and health. So, there is a serious risk of malignant transformation of this neoplasm and further development of a malignant tumor. Therefore, this problem cannot be ignored in any way.
[1]
Causes of the hanging warts
The main cause of warts is a human viral infection. There is a fairly large number of viruses that can provoke the development of warts. Basically, the development of warts triggers HPV of various types, the herpes virus, cytomegalovirus, parvivirus, retrovirus. There are forms that contribute to the transition of warts from a passive, flat state to a hanging position and trigger further growth.
There are several forms of the disease. But regardless of the form, they are all skin tumors of various sizes. The standard value ranges from a pinhead to a coin size of 20 medium sizes. It was found that the symptoms depend on the shape and size of the wart.
Mostly they are localized on the upper layer of the skin - the epidermis. They may be flat or sublime. It is also worth noting that warts can grow quickly and multiply. They can be both single and multiple. Often warts are the only form of manifestation of this disease.
As a rule, flat warts appear mainly in adolescence and adolescence. With age, growths, papillomas and hanging warts may appear on the skin. The answer to the question why their rebirth occurs is still not found. There are a lot of reasons.
So, with persistence or high levels of the virus in the blood, symptoms similar to a cold are noted. First, a person may increase body temperature. Then there is a runny nose, cough, glands, tonsils, lymph nodes. Against this, or a few days after recovery, warts appear. At first they have the appearance of an elevated growth, then they begin to grow vigorously. For a month, a rather sharp jump-like growth can occur, at which the size increases approximately 5-10 times.
Also, the reason may be a decrease in immunity. Again, in this case, basically everything is connected with the persistence of viruses that are activated against the background of reduced immunity. Often, growth is increased and the form of a wart changes during pregnancy, or some time after birth, which is also associated with a decrease in immunity. In adolescence, warts also begin to grow due to hormonal changes. A similar picture is observed in the period of menopause, against the background of some diseases of the immune system, endocrine glands, in violation of metabolic processes.
There are also venereal hanging warts, infection of which occurs sexually through unprotected contact. Such warts, as a rule, have a peaked appearance. Their peculiarity is that they are located on the mucous membranes. This type of warts appears mainly in women. This is due to sexual transmission of the virus, since often men are carriers of the virus, but the disease does not manifest itself. The virus can persist in the blood in an inactive form, or is simply suppressed by the immune system. But when contacting a woman, it often becomes infected, since women’s immunity is much lower, and it does not give the opportunity to fully resist the infection. The main manifestation is the formation of papillomas (plural, single).
Also one of the reasons, or rather the triggers of the development of warts, may be pregnancy. In this state, there is a decrease in immunity, as well as significant hormonal changes. All this contributes to the activation of infection in the blood.
There is also a special variety - plantar warts, the cause of which is the mechanical formation, the development of seals and mechanical damage to the skin, mechanical pressure.
Risk factors
At risk are people who are carriers of viruses that cause the formation of warts. This is, first of all, the herpes virus, papillomas, retroviruses, and others. Also at risk are people with reduced immunity, with impaired or altered hormonal levels. Transitional periods and stages of adaptation are also factors that contribute to the fact that a person falls into the risk group (adolescence, adolescence, pregnancy, lactation, menopause, old age). People of old and old age constitute a special category associated with a high degree of risk, since in their bodies metabolic processes are often disturbed, hormonal levels, maladjustment and degradation processes occur.
Frequently ill people, those who are in contact with people with warts, women and men whose partners are infected are at risk. A special group consists of people exposed to frequent stresses, chronic diseases, malnutrition, with impaired work and rest.

Symptoms of the hanging warts
Warts can be located anywhere on the body. As a rule, at first they are flat, and only with time they become trailing. Most often diagnosed under the arms, on the neck, in any folds, in the inguinal fold. Also quite often found on the arms, legs, face. In fact, there is no such area where a wart could not form. They are formed even on the mucous membranes.
- Hanging warts under the arm
The axillary region is a zone that is rather prone to the formation of hanging warts. So, under the armpit skin is thin, in its surface layer is formed a fairly large number of sweat glands. Almost always high humidity due to copious sweat. This is an ideal breeding ground for bacterial and viral microflora. Often, excretory and metabolic processes are disturbed in this zone, a large number of metabolites accumulate, including lactic acid, which contributes to the intensification of metabolic processes and also stimulates the reproduction of bacterial and viral flora.
- Hanging small warts on the neck
This structure is represented by connective tissue. It has the appearance of a wart, or a small seal that rises on the leg. This contributes to the fact that the leg is gradually bent and the wart becomes pendant. Formed mainly on the neck. On top of this structure is covered with a stratified epithelium. It can quite rise above the surface (on the leg) on which it grows. The initial stage, as a rule, is that the wart can be flat and spread in a horizontal direction.
- Hanging wart in groin
Often, hanging warts associated with a sexually transmitted viral infection are formed in the groin. It should be noted that women are often sick with this form, since men are only carriers of the virus. They transmit their partner's infection during sexual intercourse. In women, the infection also does not always appear. It makes itself felt only in the case of reduced immunity, hormonal disorders, with frequent diseases, a high degree of viral load. Also often develops during pregnancy. These warts are potentially oncogenic, that is, they provoke the development of malignant neoplasms under certain conditions: reduced immunity, increased reactivity and sensitization, weakness, decreased endurance and body resistance, disruption of the biochemical cycle, normal structural and functional state of the body, as well as hormonal disturbance.
Complications and consequences
At first glance, the warts are simply not attractive in appearance, spoil the aesthetic appearance. But this is only part of the consequences. One of the most dangerous complications is the possibility of malignant degeneration of the wart and the risk of developing a tumor. There is always a potential risk of progression of these conditions and their transition to malignant tumors - sarcomas, cancers, leukemias.
A particular danger is caused by tumors that are located on the internal organs: they can be damaged and cause bleeding. When localized in the lumen of the internal organs (larynx, respiratory tract, esophagus, intestines), the lumen can expand and close. This causes the corresponding pathology: asphyxiation, obstruction. Such tumors must be removed. The main method of treatment of papilloma - surgical, consists in its excision.
Also a great danger develops during pregnancy, since warts, as well as active and persistent viruses, can lead to pregnancy pathologies (most often spontaneous uterine and ectopic bleeding, spontaneous abortions, miscarriages, premature birth, stillbirth, early death of viable babies occur). In addition, children born to infected mothers can be diagnosed with various birth defects. Physical malformations, pathologies, underdevelopment or functional immaturity of organs and functional systems are most often diagnosed. There are various mental and functional abnormalities, as well as developmental delay (both mental and physical).
But these are extreme cases that occur when a high concentration of viruses, high viral load. Otherwise, during treatment and constant medical supervision, pregnancy can proceed normally. But there always remains the risk of developing urinary tract infection, bleeding, which is particularly enhanced during childbirth. There is an increased risk of infection of the child during childbirth.

Diagnostics of the hanging warts
The basis of the diagnosis is the detection of the virus in the blood, as well as determining the degree of its activity. To do this, use both laboratory and instrumental methods of research. Also important is the differential diagnosis, which allows to distinguish one type of wart from another, as well as to identify the exact species and generic name of the virus, which caused the development of pathology.
Analyzes
The main method of confirming a diagnosis is the detection of a virus in the blood, which can only be achieved after passing the appropriate tests. Laboratory methods are used for this. Mainly resort to serological and virological methods of research. Standard clinical methods are uninformative.
The research material in most cases is blood. There can be both active viruses and their persistent, inactive forms in the blood. Also often used such methods as DNA probing, hybridization, genome sequencing.
These methods allow you to identify the virus itself in the blood, its metabolic products or DNA (its fragments). ELISA (ELISA) is also often prescribed. Nevertheless, as shown by the results of modern scientific research, this method is inaccurate and uninformative. He often makes mistakes (false positive and false negative reactions). This is quite natural, since the method is based on the ability to respond to the amount of the antigen-antibody complex. This causes cross reactions. You also need to consider that antibodies persist throughout life after a single illness. Therefore, it is impossible to conclude about the stage and degree of activity of a viral infection in the body. Additional methods can serve as a microscopic examination, scraping. Microscopy will help identify the virus itself, or its metabolic products in a smear.
Instrumental diagnostics
The essence of the diagnosis is that with the help of special equipment, instruments and devices they fix the changes that occur in the body, note the physiological and functional changes that follow the basis of pathogenesis. They can lead to the development of pathology. Also, a reverse reaction is often observed, in which the corresponding changes in the body at various levels entail the formation of warts, or trigger their transformation into hanging forms.
Differential diagnosis
In the course of diagnosis, it is important to differentiate the symptoms of several pathologies that have similar external manifestations. So, it is necessary to differentiate various types and forms of warts, to distinguish them from papillomas, fibroids, tumors, traumatic scars and other pathologies that are outwardly very similar to each other. It is also important to determine what exactly is the cause that provoked the development of this pathology. So, if the cause was a virus, then you need to accurately determine the species and generic name of the virus, and if there is a possibility, then the phage type and the genotype of the virus.

Treatment of the hanging warts
For the treatment of hanging warts used drug therapy. This is the main type of treatment. But not infrequently applied and physiotherapy, folk, homeopathic remedies, herbal medicine. Surgical treatments are used either at the risk of malignant degeneration, or when traditional therapy fails.
How to remove a hanging wart at home?
It is impossible to remove a wart independently at home, regardless of whether it is pendant or flat. First, it requires special equipment and tools. Secondly, it is necessary to create sterile conditions, otherwise infection will occur with the further development of the inflammatory and purulent-infectious process. Thirdly, you need to know exactly the removal technique. Improper removal, damage may result in malignant tissue degeneration, the development of a cancer. It should be noted that not less dangerous and incomplete excision of the tissue, because there is also a risk of its malignant transformation. This should be done only by specialists. Independently, you can only use drug treatment, which can slow the development of warts.
How to remove hanging warts?
Various methods are used to remove hanging warts. It can be both traditional medical and radical methods. From drug therapy is used mainly drugs for internal use. Antiviral therapy is primarily used, since in most cases the cause of the development of a wart is a viral infection. Antibiotic therapy may also be required if a bacterial infection develops. Various ointments for topical use, as well as lotions, balms for application to the skin, have proven themselves quite well.
From radical methods, excision of the wart using surgical methods. Also often used laser removal, burning warts in various ways, including liquid nitrogen, light and electric current.
Medicines
When using drugs for the treatment of warts, you need to take precautions, otherwise side effects may occur. It is necessary to fear such effects as the malignant degeneration of the wart, its intensive growth, and rapid reproduction.
Anaferon is used as the primary means of antiviral therapy. This is a drug that they drink from 3 to 5 tablets per day. The course is usually designed for 5-7 days. Helps to eliminate both active and persistent infection, reduce the degree of viral load. Reducing viral load leads to a decrease in the intensity of the development of warts, and also helps to stop their growth. Regression (reduction of the wart, its reverse development) is rarely observed, however, such a scenario is not excluded.
Suprastin can be used to eliminate such unpleasant symptoms as burning, irritation, itching. It is taken 1 tablet 2-3 times a day. It is necessary to take a course of 5-7 days. This is enough to get rid of the pathology. Suprastin has one major drawback - it can cause drowsiness and a slow response. Therefore, persons whose work is connected with the need to show increased attention, as well as drivers, it is better to opt for other drugs.
With warts of bacterial etiology, antibiotic therapy is prescribed. The bottom line is the use of broad-spectrum antibiotics. For example, amoxiclav (500 mg) helps well. It will quickly get rid of a bacterial infection and reduce or completely remove the wart, or speed up the treatment. This is a very convenient tool, because the whole course of treatment is designed for three days. The drug is recommended to take 1 tablet (500 mg) per day for three days.
Sometimes the body develops intoxication, or autoimmune process, which is accompanied by the development and accumulation of toxins, autoantibodies. Enterosgel is used to cleanse the body. To prepare take a tablespoon of funds, dissolved in a glass of cold or warm water. Drink twice a day. As a result of receiving the body is cleared, the wart gradually disappear. The course of treatment is 30 days.
For external use, you can use the ointment hop antisepte, which enhances local immunity, normalizes the skin microflora, and also helps to stop the growth or gradual removal of the wart. It has both antiviral and antibacterial effects. It is also worth noting its ability to normalize the microflora, thereby increasing the colonization resistance of the skin.
Alternative treatment
- Recipe number 1.
To prepare take on a tablespoon of gruel of onion, plantain, raspberry, pour about 500 ml of red wine (for example, Cahors), then add half a teaspoon of freshly squeezed aloe juice. All this insist at least 1-2 days, drink 50 ml per day. The course of treatment is at least 28 days (full biochemical cycle).
- Recipe number 2.
They take in equal shares of lilac buds, dandelion roots, nettle leaves, bilberry leaves, sash of bean fruits, grass cuff. Take about 2-3 tablespoons of each component, add about 20 grams of honey, 500 ml of brandy, insist at least 5 days, drink in small quantities twice a day, 28 days.
- Recipe number 3.
As a basis take vodka or pure alcohol. Then add about a tablespoon of the following components: burdock root, blueberry leaves, green oat straw, 20 grams of lemon zest. Stir, then set aside and give the opportunity to freeze.
Herbal medicine
Of the plants used nettle. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, thins the blood, thereby quickly eliminating warts.
A decoction of strawberries used as compresses, lotions. Apply in several layers, then tied for 2-3 hours. Healing usually occurs already after 5-10 days.
Mulberry leaves in the form of poultices. They are made daily at the same time. To do this, ivy leaf moistened in boiling water, applied to the wart. Also recommended to create a "greenhouse effect" on top of cellophane cover. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.
Homeopathy
Homeopathic remedies can only be used after prior consultation with a specialist. This is a basic precautionary measure that helps prevent a number of complications. In the treatment of warts from all known homeopathy, balms have been recommended in the best way to enhance immunity and normalize microflora. All this increases endurance and body resistance. Accordingly, the viral load is significantly reduced, the warts either stop growing or decrease in size. There are even cases of complete disappearance of warts.
You can apply a variety of strengthening and stimulating infusions and balms that stimulate the protective properties that can be prepared independently. But it is necessary to strictly observe the precautionary measures, since non-observance of them leads to serious adverse effects, such as growth or expansion of warts, as well as malignant degeneration. Consider some recipes.
- Recipe number 1.
To prepare, take a tablespoon of leaves of motherwort, birch buds, roots and dandelion herb, meadow clover flowers, blackberry leaves, pour about 500 ml of red wine (for example, Cahors wine), then add half a teaspoon of ground ginger. All this insist at least 3-4 days, drink 50 ml per day. The course of treatment is at least 28 days (full biochemical cycle).
- Recipe number 2.
They take in equal shares of rhizome of wheatgrass, flax seed, raspberry leaves, valerian roots, galega grass, blueberry leaves. Take about 2-3 tablespoons of each component, add about 2-3 tablespoons of honey, 500 ml of alcohol, insist at least 5 days, drink in small quantities twice a day, 28 days.
- Recipe number 3.
As a basis take vodka or pure alcohol. Then add about a tablespoon of the following components: walnut leaves, aspen bark, leaves and marsh blueberry shoots, bearberry leaves. Stir, insist for at least a day. Drink 2-3 tablespoons twice a day, for at least a month.
- Recipe number 4.
In cognac or brandy alcohol (500 ml) add a tablespoon of leaves of laurel, chicory roots, linden flowers, heart-shaped, peony roots evading. Then 2-3 drops of the essential oil of the swamp larva and a three-part sequence are added. Drink a tablespoon twice a day.

Surgery
Surgical treatment is resorted to in the event that the wart reaches a sufficiently large size, or if it is in the lumen of the internal organs, and there is a risk of blockage. Also remove the warts in the event that they have arisen on the mucous membranes, as well as if they are located on the legs, and there is a risk of their separation and the development of bleeding. The main method is mechanical excision of the wart. Laser removal is also used.

Prevention
The basis of prevention is primarily an increase in immunity. You should periodically consult with an immunologist, take tests for viruses, latent infection. It is important to drink vitamin courses and, if necessary, immunostimulating and antiviral agents. A prerequisite is proper nutrition. It is important to include in the diet the necessary amount of vitamin and minerals. It is necessary to lead a healthy lifestyle, to observe the daily regimen, not to overcool, to minimize the effects of stress on the body.

Forecast
In most cases, with proper and timely treatment, the prognosis will be favorable. Hanging warts can be removed surgically, or their growth can be stopped with the help of medications, physiotherapy, alternative and homeopathic recipes. The operation to remove warts is quite simple: it is a quick and painless procedure that practically does not require recovery. However, if you do not take any measures and do not treat warts - complications may arise. The most dangerous is the development of malignant neoplasms, the separation of warts with the development of bleeding, blockage of gaps, progression of warts.
