Serox is a medicine prescribed for the treatment of diseases affecting ODA.

Component seratiopeptidase acts as a proteolytic enzyme, which is derived from the intestinal microbe non-pathogenic in nature - Serratia type E15. The substance has anti-inflammatory, fibrinolytic, as well as anti-edematous activity. Together with the weakening of inflammation, the drug reduces the intensity of pain - by blocking the amine release processes of pain sensations occurring inside the inflamed tissues.

Indications Serox

It is used in various areas of therapy:

  • respiratory ducts and ENT system - facilitating the process of discharge of viscous bronchial sputum and secretions from the paranasal sinuses;
  • surgery - in case of ruptures and sprains, sprains with fractures, inflammations and swelling, and also in case of damage to various soft tissues and after performing plastic surgery procedures;
  • dermatology - inflammatory-type acute dermatoses ;
  • gynecology: congestive processes in the area of the mammary glands and hematomas.

Release form

The release of the therapeutic element is produced in tablets - 10 pieces inside the strip; in a pack - 1 or 3 such strips.

Pharmacodynamics

Seratiopeptidase is synthesized with blood α-2-macroglobulin in the proportion of 1k1; the latter masks the antigenicity of the component, while maintaining its enzyme activity. Later, it gradually moves inside the exudate in the area of inflammation, and its blood counts, respectively, decrease.

Due to the hydrolysis of histamine with bradykinin and serotonin, the substance seratiopeptidase directly weakens the dilatation of the capillaries, and at the same time controls the degree of their permeability. Element seratiopeptidase causes blocking of substances that slow down the activity of plasmin, thereby leading to the development of its fibrinolytic effect. Weakening of the puffiness and improvement of microcirculation processes help the process of sputum discharge.

The enzyme activity of the drug is ten times higher than that of α-chymotrypsin. The drug is extremely effective in hydrolysis of inflammatory conductors of polypeptide genesis (bradykinin, etc.) and fibrin, but does not have a significant effect on the proteins of a living organism — albumin, as well as α-with γ-globulin. Serox does not break down fibrinogen, so it does not have a significant effect on blood coagulation.

The drug passes well into the inflammatory zones, lysing the tissues affected by necrosis with their metabolic elements, and also weakens the redness and increases the activity and rate of penetration of antibiotics. The drug reduces the viscosity of saliva and nasal secretion, which helps to facilitate their removal.

Pharmacokinetics

Serox penetrates the stomach in an unchanged state, after which it is absorbed through the intestines. Plasma Cmax values are noted after 60 minutes. A small amount of seratiopeptidase is recorded inside the urine.

Dosing and administration

Serox is required to be taken in a dosage of 1 tablet (10 mg) 3 times a day, after a meal. The drug is swallowed without chewing and squeezed with plain water (1 cup). A maximum of 30 mg per day is allowed.

The duration of the therapy is chosen individually, taking into account the course of the disease process.
