Chondrosamine contains chondroitin with glucosamine. Included in the category of antirheumatic drugs and NSAIDs.

Indications Chondrozamin

It is used for combined therapy for diseases in the field of ODA, as well as other disorders, against which there are changes in the state of cartilaginous tissues in the joints that have a degenerative-dystrophic form:

  • osteoarthritis of primary or secondary type (grade 1-3), periodontopathy and osteoporosis;
  • periarthritis of the humeroscapular character, spondylosis with osteochondrosis, and chondromalacia in the patellar region;
  • various fractures (to speed up the process of formation of the bone callus);
  • pathology in the spine with joints, having a degenerative-dystrophic character.

Release form

The preparation is produced in capsules, in the amount of 10 pieces inside a blister pack. The box contains 6 such packs.

Pharmacodynamics

The therapeutic effect of the drug is provided by the activity of the components that are included in its composition - glucosamine hydrochloride, as well as chondroitin sulfate.

Chondroitin

Chondroitin is a high-molecular-type mucopolysaccharide (gg is 20000-30000), located in a variety of different types of connective tissues, especially inside cartilage (an auxiliary substrate in the formation of a cartilaginous matrix).

This element affects the processes of phosphorus-calcium metabolism inside cartilage tissues. In addition, it inhibits resorption in the area of bone tissue and reduces the loss of calcium, and also increases the rate of regeneration of bone tissue and slows the degeneration of cartilage tissue. It also stimulates cartilage healing in the joint area, helps to restore the joint bag and cartilaginous surfaces in the joint area.

Together with this, the substance maintains the viscous structure of the synovia, prevents the compression of connective tissues and acts as a lubricating element within the joints.

Chondroitin inhibits the progression of complications of osteoarthritis and reduces the severity of its manifestations, weakens the need for NSAIDs and stabilizes the metabolic processes inside the hyaline tissue. In addition, it helps the formation of hyaluron, the binding of type 2 collagen and proteoglycans, and also prevents the splitting of hyaluron under the action of enzymes (among them lysosomal), which results in the destruction of connective tissues.

Glucosamine

Glucosamine is an endogenous element found in glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans. It promotes activation of the processes of binding of hyaluronan, proteoglycans, chondroitinsulfuric acid, as well as other components acting as a material from which joints, cartilage tissues and joints are formed. Also, the element potentiates the production of a cartilaginous matrix and stabilizes the processes of calcium deposition within bone tissues.

In addition, the substance nonspecifically protects the cartilage from damage of a chemical nature, among which effects caused by the action of GCS and NSAIDs. Has a moderate anti-inflammatory effect. Systematic use helps to slow the progression of degenerative processes inside the spine with joints, as well as peripheral soft tissue.

The medication is a participant in the processes of biosynthesis in the field of connective tissues, it prevents the destruction of cartilage and promotes the healing of its tissues.

Interaction of active elements of the drug provides the development of anti-inflammatory, healing and analgesic effect, which improves joint mobility. Continuous use of the drug reduces the need for NSAIDs, which positively affects the patient's health.

A stable therapeutic effect is observed after a 6-month drug intake.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral ingestion, 90% of the drug is absorbed through the digestive tract. Peak values within the blood plasma are noted after 3-4 hours, and inside the synovium - after 4-5 hours.

The bioavailability level with respect to synovia is 13% in chondroitin and 25% in glucosamine (due to the pronounced effect of the 1st hepatic transit).

After the distribution inside the tissues, the highest drug indices are observed inside the articular cartilage and kidneys with the liver. About 30% of the portion consumed for a long time stays inside the muscle and bone tissues.

Half-life is approximately 6-8 hours. Excretion of most of the unchanged substance occurs in the urine, and a part is excreted with feces.

Dosing and administration

The medicine is used orally, while it is washed down with plain water.

Take 2 capsules 2-4 times a day. After 30 days of such therapy, it is allowed to lower the dose to 2 capsules with a 1-2-fold application per day. The therapeutic effect develops slowly and can persist for a long time after the end of the drug intake.

The minimum permissible duration of the treatment cycle is 1.5 months. Peak therapeutic effect is observed after 2-3 months of drug use.

Use Chondrozamin during pregnancy

Appropriate controlled tests regarding drug efficacy and safety when used in lactating women and pregnant women have not been performed.

Contraindications

The main contraindications:

  • the presence of intolerance with regard to drug components;
  • thrombophlebitis;
  • disorders of renal activity in severe degree;
  • tendency to bleeding;
  • phenylketonuria.

Interactions with other drugs

Combined use with chloramphenicol or penicillins increases the absorption of tetracyclines in the gastrointestinal tract.

Chondrosamine is allowed to be combined with GCS, as well as NSAIDs. It should also be noted that when it is taken, the need to use NSAIDs decreases.
