Regain has an activating and stimulating effect on the growth of the hairline.
Release form
The drug is produced in the form of a liquid for topical use - in bottles having a capacity of 60 ml. In addition to the medicine, there are also additional nozzles necessary for dosing.
Pharmacodynamics
Regain is used for treatment with alopecia and alopecia. The active element of the drug, minoxidil, activates and stimulates the growth of hair follicles in people with alopecia are androgenic.
After local treatment with the drug, the symptoms of hair growth were noted after a minimum of 4 months of use. The beginning of the growth process and the degree of its intensity vary among different people, depending on the personal reaction to the therapy being performed. 5% solution has a more significant effect on growth processes than 2%. This fact is confirmed by the registered addition of the amount of hair from the treated patients.
After the abolition of therapy, the growth of new hair in the patient slows down, until this process completely stops. Approximately for the period of 3-4 months, the scalp on the head comes to a state noted before the appearance of alopecia.
It was not possible to establish the mechanism of minoxidil influence during treatment of androgenic form of alopecia.
Pharmacokinetics
After local treatment of the intact epidermis on the head, the absorption of minoxidil remains weak. Inside the circulatory system falls on average less than 1.5% (fluctuations in the range 0.3-4.5%) of the used dosage of drugs. When applying 1 ml of a 5% substance (50 mg of the active element) only 0.70 mg is absorbed. The effect of skin diseases on the absorption of the drug has not been investigated.
There is only a limited amount of data regarding the profile of the metabolic transformations of minoxidil after its topical application. It is known that the drug is not synthesized with the protein inside the plasma and does not pass through the BBB.
After the end of the drug application, approximately 95% of the minoxidil inside the circulatory system is excreted during the 4 days (mainly by filtering the glomeruli together with the urine).
Dosing and administration
It is necessary to apply medicament only locally - to the epidermis in the scalp of the head. Other parts of the body can not be treated with this drug solution.
One-time dose of drugs is 1 ml of the substance, which should be applied to the skin twice a day (in the morning, and later in the evening). It is recommended to start the treatment procedure in the center of the problem area, and then around the affected area. For this you can use both the fingers and the attachments that come with the package.
The size of a single serving should always be the same, regardless of the surface area being treated. For a day it is allowed to apply no more than 2 ml of the substance (in the aggregate).
People who used a 2% drug, and did not receive the desired result, and in addition to this person, who want to maximize hair volume as quickly as possible, can use a 5% form of drugs.
The most effective medicine manifested itself when it was applied to the middle part (women) and the vertex (men).
Instructions on the use of drugs.
Apply medication only on clean and dry epidermis in the scalp. When choosing the treatment method, you should familiarize yourself with the functions of the attachments that come with the vial of the medicine. If the treatment is done with your fingers, you should wash your hands immediately after the procedure.
A nozzle used for the procedure of rubbing LS.
Such a nozzle should be used when processing small areas on which there is no hair.
Before the procedure, it is necessary to put the nozzle on the bottle with the solution, and then, holding it upright in a vertical position, squeeze it to fill the upper part of the nozzle (1 ml volume) to the specified mark. After that, the capacity is turned over and the bald areas of the head begin to be massaged until the nozzle chamber is completely empty. Having finished the procedure, remove the nozzle and put the outer cap on the bottle.
Spray.
Such a nozzle is recommended for applying medicament substance to large areas of the epidermis of the head.
The head of the spray nozzle must first be released, taking off the cap. After that, it is sent to the center of the bald patch and press the valve. Further, the substance is spread with fingers throughout the problem area. This procedure should be repeated 6 times, until the entire dosage of LS (1 ml) is applied. During treatment, avoid contact with the eyes or the lungs. At the end of the procedure, the bottle is closed with a lid.
The nozzle is an elongated type used for spraying.
Such a nozzle is most conveniently used for spraying on small areas of baldness or when applied to the epidermis, which is under the preserved hair.
From the atomizer, a small spray head is first removed and then an extended nozzle is attached to its sleeve. After that, remove the cap from the nozzle, guide its tip to the center of the bald zone and press the spray gun once. Then, using your fingers, the medication is distributed over the entire bald area, rubbing it slightly into the epidermis. This procedure should be repeated 6 times to apply a full dose of LS (1 ml).
Clinical data on the use of Regein suggest that the initial symptoms of activation of hair growth were usually observed with this scheme of application: 2-time treatment with the drug for a day in a period of 4+ months. The volume of growing hair, its quality, and the time of the onset of this process are determined by the personal reaction of the human body. Only a single full-fledged hair restoration was recorded after only 3-4 months of therapy.

Use of the regeyna during pregnancy
It is forbidden to prescribe medication to pregnant women or lactating women.
Side effects of the regeyna
Negative reactions that have a local character.
Adverse symptoms noted during clinical trials of the drug's effects were usually in the form of a dermatitis that formed on the epidermis in the scalp. Only occasionally did the appearance of marked signs of dermatitis - redness, flaking, and other than inflammation.
Individual dermal itching on the head, alopecia, a contact form of dermatitis, allergic, seborrhea, folliculitis and excessive growth of the hairline were recorded.
Negative signs of a general nature (less common than local ones).
These include:
- defeat of the epidermis: swelling on the face and nonspecific response of an allergic nature (urticaria or skin rashes);
- disorders of respiratory function: dyspnea and allergic rhinitis;
- disturbances in the work of the National Assembly: dizziness and vertigo, neuritis, and headaches;
- problems with the activity of the CAS: pain in the sternum, fluctuations in blood pressure, rapid heart rate or its change, and in addition to puffiness.

Overdose
If the fluid is accidentally swallowed, negative symptoms with a systemic effect may be noted (this is due to the vasodilating effect of minoxidil). It should be borne in mind that in 5 ml of a 2% solution of LS contains 0.1 g of minoxidil (this is the maximum permissible daily dose of the drug in the treatment of elevated blood pressure), and in 5 ml of a 5% solution contains 0.25 g of substance (i.e., above that dosage 2.5 times). When you consume large portions of drugs inside, symptoms such as fluid retention, a decrease in blood pressure and tachycardia are noted.
To get rid of fluid retention, you should take diuretic medication. When tachycardia, it is necessary to use β-adrenoblockers, and with a sharp decrease in blood pressure, it is required to inject 0.9% NaCl solution intravenously. In such situations it is not advisable to use sympathomimetics (norepinephrine or epinephrine), because they have too strong a cardiostimulating effect.
Interactions with other drugs
In theory, simultaneous use of Regein with vasodilating agents of the peripheral type can lead to potentiation of an already existing postural hypotension, but clinically confirmed data of such an interaction has not yet been noted.
When using drugs in combination with oral use of minoxidil (for the treatment of elevated blood pressure values), in theory there may be an insignificant increase in its serum levels. It should be noted that clinical studies on the development of this effect have not been performed.
To prescribe medication to people with elevated BP indices and using guanethidine or its derivatives, is allowed exclusively under the close supervision of doctors.
It was found that the drug can interact with individual local medications. For example, a combination of drugs with a 0.05% cream containing betamethasone reduces the absorption of minoxidil, and combined use with tretinoin or dithranol (these substances affect the protective function of the epidermis) may, on the contrary, lead to an increase in the absorption of minoxidil.
Shelf life
Regein in a 2% solution can be used within a 5-year period, and in a 5% solution - a maximum of 3 years from the date of release of the drug.
[27]
Application for children
The medicine is not used in persons under the age of 18 years.
Analogues
Analogues of the drug are such substances as Alerana with Generrolon, and besides, Cosilon, Alopexy and Revasil.
Reviews
Regain receives quite diverse reviews regarding the drug effect. The opinions of patients on this issue are divided approximately equally. The medicine is mainly evaluated by women, reviews from men are marked much less.
Some patients believe that the medicine is really very effective and helps to avoid baldness, yet, thanks to its use, it was only possible to stop the process of deposition a little, and the rest did not achieve the required result at all.
