- microorganisms that carry the infection;
- diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
- diseases of the cardiovascular system;
- weakened immunity;
- lack of vitamins;
- disturbed metabolism in the body;
- nervous breakdowns;
- malignant tumors;

Less pronounced factors, which also can in their own way provoke ulcerative stomatitis:

Symptoms of ulcerative stomatitis
As the ulcerative stomatitis begins to manifest itself - at first the redness appears in the mouth, which spreads to the entire mucous membrane. Then these reddenings begin to swell, the burning sensation is clearly palpable. When the patient did not notice this process in time and took no measures, small oval or round sores appear in their place. Typical for them color - gray or white, a red halo and a film from above are noticeable. The rest of the surface around them can look normal and natural. There is severe pain from sores, food is difficult. Typical places of appearance of ulcers with ulcerative stomatitis are cheeks and lips (in the mouth), under the tongue. The mild form of ulcerative stomatitis can be accompanied by one such ulcer. Severe form of ulcerative stomatitis - when the ulcers become large and deep. At the same time, severe pain prevents speech and food. Still often a lot of saliva is released, a plaque appears on the tongue, all this is accompanied by a bright red color of the oral cavity, vomiting after eating.
The most obvious symptoms of ulcerative stomatitis are:
- ulcers on the oral mucosa, which covers the gray coating. Most often accompanied by discomfort and pain, especially during meals. Ulcers have the property of overlapping, forming huge painful formations. If this disease spreads to the jawbone, then, perhaps, there will be an additional disease - osteomyelitis of the jaw;
- unpleasant odor in the mouth;
- burning;
- increased lymph nodes;
- weakness, headache.
Ulcerative stomatitis often appears in patients who have problems with the gastrointestinal tract, in whom there is a stomach ulcer and chronic enteritis. Diseases of the blood and cardiovascular system, infectious diseases, poisoning with salts of heavy metals can also become a prehistory of symptoms of ulcerative stomatitis.
Ulcerative stomatitis in children
Ulcerative stomatitis is widespread in children. Very few babies managed to avoid it. Children have all the same forms of ulcerative stomatitis as in the elders. The child's body and immunity is weaker than an adult and is therefore more prone to ulcerative stomatitis, which is why it is so important to follow the measures of prevention of ulcerative stomatitis in children.

Treatment of ulcerative stomatitis
To cure ulcerative stomatitis, first and foremost professionally brush your teeth, remove dental calculi and get rid of soft plaque. When caries are present, it is also important to eliminate it immediately. Then the mouth is treated with antiseptic rinses. In five to ten days, this way you can get rid of catarrhal stomatitis. In the event that it is transformed and acquires symptoms of ulcerative or aphthous-ulcerative stomatitis, then local treatment is not enough, it must be combined with the general one. Medical assistance then, in addition to all of the above, includes the implementation of special antiseptic procedures.
When the patient has herpes stomatitis, the treatment is additionally treated against viruses. In the situation with candidiasis stomatitis - antifungal drugs are prescribed. When stomatitis is caused initially by another disease (for example, problems with the stomach, intestines), first treat the underlying cause.
Ulcerative stomatitis is most often treated with hydrogen peroxide, a solution of potassium permanganate, use drugs such as "Stomatidin", antimicrobial sprays, for example, "Oracept." This is a local treatment. As for the general, it is necessary to eliminate the root cause of the disease, as well as to promote immunity. Usually the doctor in such cases appoints to take all kinds of vitamins and minerals, antibiotics, antihistamines, sulfonamide drugs, calcium chloride.
To eliminate pain, ointments and powders are used, rinsing with novocaine solution.
Alternative methods of treatment of ulcerative stomatitis
Some of the alternative treatments for ulcerative stomatitis are recommended even by official medicine. So, the wonderful effect has calendula - it has a strong antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect, it heals well. Another great antiseptic - chamomile - is widely used by both the people and doctors.
Apply onion and garlic compresses: finely chopped onions and garlic wrapped in cheesecloth and put into sore places.
With stomatitis, rinses with various infusions are helpful. Insist crushed oak bark, walnut leaves, chamomile inflorescences, flax seeds, sage leaves, burdock roots and much more.
In addition, alternative medicine provides methods of treatment when alternative means can not only rinse, but also take inside. Decoctions of rosehips, which is rich in vitamins and other substances useful to the human body, strengthen the immune system, eliminate inflammation, prevent and destroy harmful bacteria. However, in the case of candidal and herpetic stomatitis, herbal remedies, although they do wonders, will not help, because antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and immunodimodifying pills to fungi and viruses do not harm.
Diet for ulcerative stomatitis
During periods of exacerbation of stomatitis, the patient is advised to eat chopped food so as not to injure the mouth mucosa in addition. To a patient with ulcerative stomatitis it is important not to use acute, hot, cold, sour, rough - in a word, what can additionally harm the already irritated surface.
