Widespread skin damage by various types of human papillomavirus (HPV) leads to the appearance of dermatological defects, which are commonly referred to as warts. A remedy such as Wartner Wart Removal Pen can help in solving this problem.

Indications Wartner pens

The purpose of the Wartner Wart Pen applicator (manufacturer - Pharmaspray B.V., Netherlands) is to remove common warts (verruca vulgaris) on the skin of the extremities, including plantar warts (verruca plantaris).

Wartner Cryotherapy Wart Remover (manufacturer - Omega Teknika, Ireland) or Wartner Cryo for warts is similarly indicated.

Release form

Wartner Verruca & Wart Removal Pen - a pencil or pen applicator for Wartner warts that uses an acid-liquid method. The gel contained in the Wartner device is a composition with TCA - concentrated trichloroacetic acid (trichloroethane), which cauterizes the wart tissue and causes long-term desquamation (peeling).

Another form of the brand's anti-wrinkle agent, Wartner Cryotherapy, is aerosolized (spray bottle with applicator); it freezes the lesions on the skin (by freezing them to -50°C). This temperature is achieved by evaporation of the gas mixture DMEP (dimethyl ether+propane) contained in the cylinder, which is applied to the surface of the wart in the form of foam with the applicator, resulting in direct damage to keratinocyte cells and their necrosis.

Dosing and administration

These products are applied externally. In the instructions of Vartner pen and Vartner cryo there is a detailed description of the method of their application, and the manufacturers repeatedly emphasize the importance of compliance with these rules.

The applicator pen has a twist-and-turn mechanism to determine the correct amount of gel to apply to the wart. When using the Wartner pen for the first time - to fill it completely with gel - the knob on the top of the device must be turned fully clockwise (until a drop appears). One drop is enough to treat one medium-sized wart. The gel is applied twice a day for four consecutive days (if the wart is small, once is enough); the gel is absorbed into the tissue of the wart within a quarter of an hour (i.e. This time is necessary for drying).

The peeling skin (which usually flakes off for about a week) can be washed off with warm running water. After the wart disappears, a pink patch of regenerated skin remains, which will eventually become normal in color.

After pressing the valve of the Wartner Cryo applicator (which should not exceed 3 seconds), a pause of 20 seconds should be kept, after which the cold foam is applied to the surface of the wart (for 20-40 seconds). The wart will turn white and there will be a slight tingling sensation and a pustule (blister) will appear under the wart. A single wart can be frozen with Wartner Cryo up to three times - 14 days after each treatment.

  • Application for children

The use of these products in children is possible only after they have reached the age of four years.

Use Wartner pens during pregnancy

These wart remedies are not used during pregnancy and lactation.

Contraindications

According to the official instructions, the Wartner pen and Wartner Cryo are contraindicated for use:

  • for removal of warts localized on the face, axillae and groin area, papillomas on mucous membranes, wart-like dark nevi, as well as verrucous formations on the skin of other parts of the body;
  • to get rid of warts with hairs growing on them;
  • in the presence of skin irritation, itching and/or hyperemia at the site of intended application;
  • in cases with a history of diabetes mellitus or peripheral venous stasis.

Side effects Wartner pens

As noted in the accompanying instructions, Wartner Wart Pen should be applied very carefully without touching the skin around the wart, otherwise it may be damaged, which may leave a scar after healing.

Wartner Cryo should also be used to avoid scarring and nerve damage (which causes loss of skin sensation in the area of skin that has been frozen).

Overdose

Excessive amounts of gel when using a Wartner pen can cause a very painful chemical burn with redness and ulceration of the skin area adjacent to the wart. If intense pain occurs, the gel should be quickly washed off with cool water.

Freezing a Wartner Cryo wart in violation of the instructions (too long) is fraught with local tissue necrosis.

Storage conditions

Store these products in a dry place, out of reach of children; optimal temperature +18-25°C.

Shelf life

The shelf life is two years.

Analogs

And freezing warts with a mixture of dimethyl ether and propane with Wartner Wart and Verruca Remover, according to clinical studies, is as effective as the classic use of liquid nitrogen in a medical setting.
