The appearance of warts is not uncommon, but not everyone knows that this is a viral disease. Their appearance resembles elevations of overgrown epithelium above the surface of the body. They come in different sizes and colors, and are localized in different parts of the body: fingers, soles of the feet, face, and even on the genitals. One of the varieties of these benign neoplasms is a black wart.
Causes black wart
The human papilloma virus is the cause of warts. Like any virus, it penetrates more easily into a weakened organism, which is facilitated by an unhealthy lifestyle, constant stress, poor nutrition, and chronic diseases. It is transmitted most often through personal contact, through shared household items: manicure accessories, towels; in swimming pools and saunas; public transport; as a result of sexual intercourse. Infection with the virus is facilitated by skin damage.
Symptoms black wart
Warts appear unexpectedly, they can be preceded by symptoms such as peeling skin, itching, and sometimes they are found already formed. By their appearance, they are divided into 4 main types: common or simple, flat or juvenile, pointed and senile. They also differ in color. Blackening of the growth makes them more noticeable, and also signals the active growth phase of the formation. The black color is caused by the capillaries through which the wart is nourished, sometimes this indicates the formation of blood clots in the vessels. The appearance of such a sign is a reason to contact a specialist so as not to miss the degeneration into a malignant form. Keratomas, typical of elderly people, also often have black inclusions, but do not pose a danger.
The localization of black warts on the body is different: in the navel, groin, arm, legs, finger, face and even tongue. For a long time they can have a normal color and only then black dots appear inside.
Black plantar wart
A type of common wart is the black plantar wart. Most often it appears in the place where shoes press, its formation is facilitated by increased sweating of this part of the feet. The growth, as a rule, is single at first, with an uneven surface, flesh-colored. There may be several of them, eventually merging into one "mosaic" wart. Over time, black dots appear, which are its roots. Dense keratinized plantar warts cause a lot of trouble, because they are painful, causing discomfort when walking.

Differential diagnosis
Differential diagnostics are also carried out with lichen planus and warty tuberculosis of the skin. In the first case, the papules of the formation are distinguished by a purple-red color, in the second - by the presence of a bright purple rim around the tubercle.
Who to contact?
Treatment black wart
Black warts, like other types, can disappear on their own, but this does not eliminate the papilloma virus. Therefore, therapy is based on a comprehensive approach and includes:
- antiviral drugs;
- immunomodulatory;
- vitamin;
- surgical treatment (removal of the formation itself).
Medicines
Antiviral treatment aimed at combating the human papillomavirus is carried out using drugs based on the active substance interferon.
Interferon is a protein obtained using leukocytes of healthy people as a response of the immune system to the effects of a virus, aimed at its destruction. It is sold in ampoules, immediately before use it is opened, distilled or cooled boiled water is added to the mark on it, shaken until the contents are dissolved. Instilled into each nostril 5 drops several times a day as prescribed by the doctor. More effective when sprayed with an inhaler. For one session, you will need 3 ampoules per 10 ml of water. The drug is not prohibited even for infants, and there is no information on the safety of use for pregnant women, so only a doctor determines the appropriateness of its use. Side effects include allergic reactions.
Tocopherol acetate or vitamin E is prescribed in parallel with the antiviral drug in order to enhance its effect. It protects substances from oxidation, is a powerful anti-inflammatory, restorative agent. Available in vials, ampoules, capsules. Can be taken from 50 to 300 ml per day. High doses can cause diarrhea. It is prescribed with caution for thrombophlebitis, cardiosclerosis, myocardial infarction.
Isoprinosine - tablets, prevents virus reproduction, stimulates the immune system. The daily dose is 50 mg per kilogram of human weight, divided into 3-4 doses. The course of treatment is from 5 to 10 days, the maximum treatment period is 15 days. The drug can cause headaches, weakness, dizziness, increased levels of uric acid in urine and blood. Contraindicated for pregnant women, lactating women, people with urolithiasis, gout, kidney disease.
Local remedies are part of complex therapy. The most popular among them is oxolinic ointment. It is applied to the wart 2-3 times a day. Sometimes the ointment can cause a burning sensation. The growths are also treated with panavir gel or viferon ointment. The first one uses plant components, the second one is made on the basis of interferon.
Folk remedies
People have their own "surefire" recipes for getting rid of warts. Here are some of them:
- rub with garlic several times a day until it disappears completely;
- bake garlic, combine it with butter, apply to the growth;
- rub with chalk and sprinkle on top, apply a bandage, keep for 24 hours;
- hold the onion in vinegar essence and fix it on the wart;
- Combine grated horseradish with salt, apply and secure.
The suggested compresses should be renewed periodically. The procedures should be carried out until the warts disappear completely.

Herbal treatment
Among folk methods of getting rid of warts, herbs are used most successfully:
- lubricate with a decoction of wormwood (3 tablespoons per glass of boiling water) in the morning and evening;
- treat with celandine juice several times a day;
- apply tea tree oil;
- use lemon juice for application;
- apply Kalanchoe leaves, banana peel.
Homeopathy
Homeopathic treatment of warts is quite common. The products are selected in cosmetology and dermatology offices not only to eliminate them, but also to suppress the virus throughout the body.
Anaferon is a homeopathic antiviral, immunomodulatory drug that increases the activity of antibodies, macrophages and cytokines. The tablet is placed under the tongue and dissolved. Adults are recommended to take 3 to 6 tablets per day. No tests have been conducted during pregnancy and lactation, so the drug is prohibited for use by this group of patients. Side effects may include allergic reactions.
Depending on the type of wart and its location, a homeopathic doctor will select:
- Antimonium Crudum - for hard, calloused skin on the feet and hands. Available in granules and drops. Five drops are dripped onto sugar, taken after meals three times a day, the granules are dissolved under the tongue (8 at a time) half an hour before meals or an hour after. The duration of treatment is 3-4 weeks. It can cause a temporary exacerbation, in which case you should stop taking it for a week, an allergic reaction is also possible;
- arsenicum album - granules for senile seborrheic warts, dosage: 3-4 times a day at the same time as per previous recommendations. The maximum course of treatment is 3 months;
- Calcarea carbonica, chelidonium, dulcamara - for the treatment of flat juvenile warts.
Surgical treatment
If a black wart causes physical or aesthetic discomfort, gets rubbed by clothing and is injured, and the doctor considers it necessary to get rid of it for health safety reasons, then they resort to surgical treatment, i.e. removal. Although this method is outdated and has many complications, it still exists. More modern ones include:
- chemical removal - with the help of medications that are available in pharmacies. Its disadvantage is traces in the form of scars;
- laser - a modern and safe method using preliminary anesthesia. The burned area of the skin remains for some time, but then it heals without leaving a trace;
- cryotherapy - removal using liquid nitrogen, no tissue scarring occurs after the procedure;
- radio wave removal - high-frequency waves are transmitted to the radio knife from a special generator, with the help of which the formation is cut off, while the vessels are sealed (no bleeding), nerve endings (no pain), and the tissues around the lesion are sterilized, which prevents infection.
Prevention
Preventive measures to avoid the formation of growths of various natures, first of all, include good immunity. And for this, it is necessary to lead a healthy lifestyle, eat well, take vitamins, avoid stressful situations, spend more time outdoors, move a lot, play sports. If a black wart has already had to be removed, then to prevent new appearances, you still need to resort to antiviral drugs. In the prevention of warts, periodic examination by a dermatologist and immunologist is important, as well as vaccination against HPV.
Forecast
A blackened wart can pose a health risk, so trying to remove it yourself can lead to serious consequences. In most cases, when you see a doctor about this problem, the prognosis is favorable.
