Versatis has a local anesthetic effect.
The drug contains a local anesthetic lidocaine, which is an acetamide derivative, which has a membrane stabilizing effect, and can also block the activity of Na channels inside the excitable neural walls. After local application on the intact epidermis, the required medical effect develops - elimination of pain in a specific area. The drug has no systemic effect.
Release form
The release of the drug is implemented in the form of a patch for local use - 5 pieces inside the sachet. The box contains 1, 2 or 6 such sachets.
[2],
Pharmacokinetics
About 3 ± 2% of the substance of its total volume contained within the patch is subjected to adsorption. Blood indices Cmax, equal to 0.13 μg / ml, are noted after the simultaneous application of 3 patches over a 12-hour period. Protein synthesis inside the plasma is 50-80%.
Distribution processes are carried out at high speed (the term half-life of the distribution stage lasts 6-9 minutes) and occurs first inside the tissues that are well supplied with blood, and then develop inside the muscle and fatty tissues.
Lidocaine can overcome the BBB and the placenta, and can also be eliminated with mother's milk (about 40% of the plasma parameters in a woman). Metabolic processes take place inside the liver, amounting to 90-95%, with the participation of enzymes of microsomes, followed by the formation of metabolic components with medicinal activity.
Excretion is performed by the kidneys, as well as along with the bile. Up to 10% of the therapeutic component is eliminated unchanged.
In people with hepatic diseases, the rate of metabolic processes drops to 10-50% of the standard level.
In chronic renal failure, metabolic elements may accumulate, because, due to acidification of urine, lidocaine excretion increases.
Dosing and administration
It is necessary to glue the plaster on the dry epidermis (the area should be free of inflammation or damage) in the area of pain. The procedure is performed 1 time per day, the maximum duration of holding the patch is 12 hours. At the same time you can use a maximum of 3 patches. If the protective film is still present on the patch, it can be cut into the required number of pieces. Therapy can last 0.5-1 months; in the absence of the desired result, it should be canceled.
It is necessary to apply the plaster externally, sticking it to the epidermis immediately after removing it from the sachet and removing the protective plastic film. Hair in the treatment area must be clipped with scissors (shaving is prohibited).
After the gluing procedure, hands should be washed immediately. Do not contact with unwashed hands with eyes.
Use Versatis during pregnancy
It is forbidden to appoint Versatis during breastfeeding, as well as pregnancy.
Contraindications
The main contraindications for the patch:

Side effects Versatis
The use of the patch can cause negative immune reactions - for example, contact dermatitis, symptoms of which are epidermal rashes, itching, hyperemia and urticaria, and, in addition, burning in areas that have been affected by the medication. In addition, there were cases with the appearance of Quincke edema.
Overdose
The likelihood of intoxication with Versatis is extremely unlikely, although it cannot be completely eliminated, because the incorrect use of the patch can lead to the development of elevated plasma parameters that do not correspond to the standard marks, giving a medical effect. There may be general toxicity similar to that observed when using lidocaine as a local anesthetic. At the same time such signs are noted:
- respiratory depression, anaphylaxis, ear noise, visual disturbance, feeling cold or hot;
- tremor, dizziness, euphoria, convulsions, anxiety or fear, headaches and arousal affecting the central nervous system;
- bradycardia, depression, increased blood pressure values.
Lidocaine has no antidote. With the development of suspicious manifestations should immediately remove and dispose of the patch, as well as consult with the doctor.
