Veral is a medicament from the NSAID drug group.

Indications Verala

It is used locally for rheumatic pathologies of degenerative or inflammatory nature:

• rheumatoid arthritis;
• YURA;
• arthritis of psoriatic origin;
• aggravations of gout ;
• dermatomyositis or polymyositis;
• polymyalgia of rheumatic nature;
• Libman-Sachs disease;
• ankylosing spondylitis;
• osteoarthritis.

In addition, the gel is prescribed for rheumatism of extra-articular nature (such as periarthritis humeroscapularis, as well as tendinitis, epicondylitis and tendosynovitis), pain in the spine, and in the treatment of postoperative or traumatic deformities affecting the motor system (dislocations, distortions or contusion)

Release form

The release of the substance is realized in the form of a 1% gel, in tubes with a volume of 55 g, in 1 piece inside the box.

Pharmacodynamics

An important element of the impact exerted by diclofenac is the slowing down of GHG biosynthesis processes. Diclofenac inhibits the manifestation of inflammation (acute or chronic form), and also eliminates hyperemia and pain.

Topical use of diclofenac quickly leads to relief from pain and numbness of the joints in the morning, and in addition it helps to improve the mobility of the musculoskeletal system and weakens the swelling. Thanks to this, it is possible to reduce portions of NSAIDs and anesthetics, which are simultaneously administered with gel for oral administration.

Pharmacokinetics

After local use, diclofenac passes well through the epidermis into the subcutaneous tissues, tendons, fascia, and also into the synovium and articular bag. The component reaches effective indicators inside inflamed tissues after 20 minutes, while inside the systemic blood flow its values remain extremely low.

Diclofenac suction after local application is 3.3%. This allows you to exclude the development of most of the negative manifestations observed during parenteral or oral administration of the element.

Absorbed diclofenac is 99.7% synthesized inside the plasma with protein, and also undergoes the 1st intrahepatic passage. After that, metabolic products are excreted in the urine (40-65%) and feces (35%). Approximately 0.8-1% of the active ingredient is excreted unchanged.

Distribution volume of the substance is quite low: in the range of 0.12-0.55 l / kg. The level of total clearance is in the range of 267-350 ml / minute.

Dosing and administration

Most often, a strip of approximately 2-4 g of gel is applied to the affected area. The procedure is carried out 3-4 times per day (0.4-0.8 m ² ). The gel must be rubbed to absorb it into the epidermis.

The use of Veral gel is allowed to combine with the introduction of other therapeutic forms of release containing diclofenac. The drug can be used for a long time.

Use Verala during pregnancy

Given that there is not enough information regarding the use of Veral gel in pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding, it is impossible to prescribe it during these periods.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated to apply to people with a strong intolerance against any elements of the drug or drugs from the group of NSAIDs. It is also forbidden to treat the areas with wounds with gel.

Local side symptoms: dermatitis of contact character is sometimes noted, accompanied by itching, rashes, burning sensation and redness of the epidermis.
