The superior twin muscle (m.gemellus superior) starts on the ischium, the lower twin muscle (m.gemellus inferior) is on the ischium.
Function of the upper and lower twin muscles: turn the hip outward.
Innervation of the upper and lower twin muscles: the muscular branches of the sacral plexus (LIV-LV, SI-SIII).
Blood supply to the upper and lower twin muscles: lower gluteal, blocking and internal sexual arteries.
