- For microbial vaginosis.
- For vulvovaginitis caused by a specific pathogen.
- For vulvovaginitis and cervicitis caused by non-specific infection.
- To prevent microbial complications before and after surgery.
- To prevent inflammatory complications in the postpartum period.
For specific infectious pathologies, Tantum rose is used in combination with other medications - that is, as part of a combination treatment.
Release form
Tantum Rosa is produced in the form of granules, which are then used by the patient to prepare an intravaginal solution.
The active ingredient of the granules is benzydamine hydrochloride.
The cardboard package contains 10 sachets with granulated preparation Tantum Rose.
- The granulated powder is white in colour and is homogeneous.
- The intravaginal solution is transparent and colourless, has a characteristic pink aroma.
Pharmacodynamics
Tantum rose has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
The active ingredient benzydamine reduces the permeability of capillary walls, normalizes lysosomal membranes, inhibits the production of ATP and other high-energy compounds.
Tantum rose inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators prostaglandins, bradykinins, cytokines and histamine.
Tantum rose does not affect the synthesis of cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase, which serves as a preventative measure for a large number of side effects.
Tantum rose reduces the sensitivity of pain receptors located in the area of inflammation, and also affects the regulation of pain response in the centers located in the thalamus.
The drug has the most pronounced antiseptic properties in relation to such a microorganism as Gardnerella vaginalis.
Pharmacokinetics
It has been established that the active ingredient Tantum rose accumulates on the intravaginal epithelium, reaching a peak concentration of 9.7 (± 6.24) μg/g. Slow absorption through mucous tissues explains the presence of a small amount of the drug in the blood serum. Such quantities are considered insufficient for the development of systemic medicinal effects.
The degree of binding to plasma proteins is relatively low and is less than 20%.
The half-life of Tantum Rose is approximately 13 hours.
The drug is excreted from the body with urine - in the form of inactive decay products.
Dosing and administration
The medicinal product Tantum Rose is intended for intravaginal use.
The granulated preparation is dissolved in water: one sachet requires 0.5 liters of warm boiled water.
The procedure is carried out lying on your back, as the solution must remain inside the vagina for several minutes.
- For the treatment of microbial vaginosis, Tantum rose is used 1-2 times a day for a week.
- For inflammatory reactions associated with exposure to a non-specific pathogen, as well as for specific vulvovaginitis, Tantum Rose is used in the morning and at night for 10 days.
