Suppositories for prostate adenoma Tykveol contain pumpkin oil, obtained from pumpkin seeds. Its main effects on prostate tissue - reducing proliferation, improving microcirculation, relieving inflammation - are due to the antioxidant provitamin A, carotenoid lycopene, vitamin E, zinc, phosphorus and magnesium compounds present in the oil.
The pharmacological effect of Bioprost suppositories is also provided by the seed oil plus thymol, a phenolic compound of thyme, which has antiseptic and analgesic properties.
Vitol suppositories, in addition to pumpkin oil, contain licorice root extract, which contains phytosteroids similar to human glucocorticosteroids. Due to this, these suppositories help with the development of inflammatory processes in the prostate.
The instructions for Prostovitol suppositories indicate their analgesic and genitourinary system-improving effects, which are provided by such components of the drug as nettle oil extract, rose hips and zinc sulfate (which has antiseptic and astringent properties).
The pharmacokinetics of rectal suppositories, despite the possibility of their active substances entering the bloodstream, are not presented by the manufacturers.
