Sage with milk for coughs is used at the first symptoms of respiratory pathologies.

Useful properties of sage:

  • Pronounced antiseptic and expectorant action.
  • Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect.
  • High content of vitamins, minerals and other microelements.

The plant also contains a natural antibiotic, salvin, which accelerates the healing process and has bactericidal and anti-inflammatory properties.

Recipes based on milk with medicinal sage:

  • Take a tablespoon of dry grass, a glass of milk and water, honey, sugar. Pour a glass of boiling water over the grass and let it brew for 20-30 minutes. Strain and add boiled milk. Use the infusion warm, in small sips throughout the day. To improve the taste, you can add honey and sugar to the remedy.
  • Brew the herb with boiling milk and inhale the vapors under a sheet or towel. Then take ½ cup of warm milk with a spoonful of honey.

Like any herbal remedy with medicinal properties, sage has certain contraindications. The plant can cause convulsions in children, cause uterine contractions during pregnancy, reduce lactation levels and increase blood pressure. It is not taken in case of thyroid dysfunction and urinary tract diseases.

One of the most effective herbal remedies for colds is thyme with milk for cough. The beneficial effect of thyme for respiratory disorders is explained by its rich vitamin composition. The most common recipe for treatment is: pour two teaspoons of dried thyme with a glass of milk. Place the mixture in a water bath for 30 minutes. After cooling, strain and take ½ glass in small sips. You can add a spoonful of honey to the drink.

Thyme should be used with extreme caution when treating children. The herb is contraindicated for pregnant women, as it increases uterine tone and is not recommended for patients with liver and kidney diseases.
