Medication is taken to restore the balance of electrolytes and fluid inside the body with diarrhea or vomiting. Glucose, which is part of the drug, helps absorb salts with citrates, so that metabolic acidosis is maintained.

The osmolarity level of the prepared solution is 260 mOsm / l. It has a slightly alkaline medium (pH = 8.2). Compared with conventional solutions recommended by WHO for use in rehydration therapy, the drug has a lower osmolality. The sodium level is also lower than that of other drugs of a similar type of action, and the potassium index is slightly higher.

Dosing and administration

Use the medication orally, at any time of the day, without binding to the time of eating.

To prepare medicinal liquid, it is necessary to dilute the powder in warm boiled water (the most suitable temperature is within 35-40 ° C). In the treatment of the disorder, 2.39 g of the drug are dissolved in 0.1 L of liquid (half-glass). For 11.95 g of the substance, 0.5 liters of water is required, and for 23.9 grams, 1 liter. In the case of prophylaxis, a twice larger volume of fluid, 0.2, 1, and 2 liters, is required for breeding.

With a mild form of diarrhea, the daily dosage amount is 40-50 ml / kg. With a moderate form, 80-100 ml / kg. Therapy usually lasts 3-4 days. You can stop taking drugs when diarrhea stops.

Supporting measures to restore VEB and stop diarrhea include taking Regidron in a daily dose of 80-100 ml / kg.

During the first 6-10 hours the patient needs to administer the medication in volumes that are twice the weight loss caused by gastric disorder. At this stage of therapy, there is no need to consume other fluids.

With the continuation of diarrhea after correction of dehydration, the patient needs to get 8.3-27 liters of fluid throughout the day (the more accurate figure depends on the weight of the patient). Processes of nutrition or breastfeeding during the use of drugs should not be interrupted (or they are resumed immediately after the completion of rehydration procedures).
