Pectolvan Stop is a drug substance from the drug subgroup of antitussive drugs.
This complex remedy includes 2 main active elements, whose combination leads to the development of effective therapeutic properties - antitussive, mucolytic, and beyond that expectorants. The drug is often used to treat unproductive dry cough, which develops with a variety of colds lesions. It has a high therapeutic activity.

After the passage of metabolic processes, 2 metabolic elements are formed with antitussive activity. Over 90% of the component is excreted by the kidneys, and the remainder is excreted by the intestines. The term half-life is approximately 6 hours.
Excretion of guaifenesin from the gastrointestinal tract occurs at a very high speed. A small part of the substance is synthesized with intraplasma blood protein. Excreted in the form of metabolic components through the kidneys; only a small part of guaifenesin is excreted unchanged. The half-life of the element is 60 minutes.
Dosing and administration
It is necessary to apply medicine orally, right after the use of food. A portion of the drops should be dissolved in a liquid (portion 0.05-0.1 l) before oral administration. As a solvent can be used as a simple water, and compote or tea.
Between use of the drug should be observed 4-6-hour period. It is necessary to use drops 3 times a day. Portion size is selected taking into account the weight of the patient:
- less than 7 kg - 8 drops;
- within 7-12 kg - 9 drops;
- in the range of 12-30 kg - 14 drops;
- weight 30-40 kg - 16 drops;
- weight 40-50 kg - 25 drops;
- in the range of 50-70 kg - 30 drops;
- in the range of 70-90 kg - 40 drops.
To increase the effectiveness of the therapeutic effect of the drug, it is allowed to dissolve the substance using large volumes of liquid.
When prescribing drugs to children weighing less than 7 kg, the serving size is reduced.
Duration of drug use - 1 week. Further use of Pectolvan Stop may be prescribed only by a doctor after a preliminary examination.
Use Pektolvana Stop during pregnancy
It is forbidden to appoint Pektolvan Stop in the 1st trimester of pregnancy. Use at a later time, and in addition, breastfeeding is allowed only in the case of a higher probability of benefit to the woman than the risk to the child. Contraindications

Interactions with other drugs
