Patentex Oval N is a gynecological suppository from the subgroup of non-hormonal contraceptive medications. The suppositories have a foaming effect and have a strong spermicidal effect.
The drug causes fragmentation, decreased mobility, and subsequent death of spermatozoa. At the same time, the drug has antiviral, antimicrobial, antiparasitic and antimycotic properties against some pathogenic bacteria that provoke the development of diseases that are transmitted through sexual contact.
Indications Patentexa Oval H
It is used in the form of a local contraceptive drug.
Release form
The substance is released in the form of pessaries, 6 pieces per strip; in a pack - 1 or 2 such strips.
Pharmacodynamics
The drug weakens the surface tension in the area of the lipid wall of spermatozoa, and then has an irreversible paralyzing effect on their motility.
Mechanical effect: the spermicidal component creates a uniform layer inside the vagina, forming a stable barrier there that prevents sperm from entering the uterus.
Dosing and administration
The pessary must be inserted into the vagina to the depth of a finger before each sexual contact. The substance becomes active within 10 minutes after insertion.
If there is no ejaculation within 60 minutes from the moment of using the drug, it is necessary to insert the suppository again (although it is considered that the drug has a 2-hour duration of action). Before each subsequent sexual contact, the drug must be used again (10 minutes before) even in situations where less than 60 minutes have passed between acts.
