One of the many, but quite effective external preparations, which are mainly used for pathologies of muscle and joint structures, is Dr. Theiss's comfrey ointment.

Indications Dr. Thyssen's Ointment of Bellywort.
Release form
Dr. Theiss's comfrey ointment is a homogeneous mass of greenish color with a specific aroma.
The main ingredients of the ointment are comfrey tincture, ethyl alcohol, and tocopherol.
The ointment is packaged in glass jars of 20, 50 or 100 g. Each jar is packed in a cardboard container.
Pharmacodynamics
The healing properties of Dr. Theiss's comfrey ointment are explained by the presence of useful ingredients in its composition. For example, the rhizome of comfrey is a natural storehouse of substances that are of undoubted benefit to humans:
- allantoin – promotes rapid recovery and soothing of the skin;
- mucous components – have good viscosity, have an analgesic and adsorbent effect;
- astringent components – protect the skin and relieve inflammation.
What properties does Dr. Theiss' comfrey ointment have?
- Bactericidal properties, the ability to quickly and successfully cure many skin problems.
- Exfoliating properties, stimulation of tissue renewal, prevention of inflammatory processes in tissues.
- Moisturizing properties, protection from the damaging effects of the external environment.
- Antioxidant property (mainly due to the presence of tocopherol in the ointment).
- Soothing properties, ability to eliminate irritation, soften, nourish and moisturize.
Dosing and administration
Apply Dr. Theiss comfrey ointment in a fairly thick layer, covering the entire affected area of the body. The optimal frequency of application of the ointment is 2-3 times daily, until the condition is relieved.
It is recommended to apply the ointment under a gauze bandage as a compress before going to bed.
The total duration of ointment therapy cannot be more than 1-1.5 months during the year. If necessary, the ointment is combined with other drugs of similar action.
Use Dr. Thyssen's Ointment of Bellywort. during pregnancy
Experts do not recommend using Dr. Theiss comfrey ointment for pregnant women. The fact is that the kinetic characteristics of the ointment have not been studied to date, and it cannot be unequivocally stated that this medication will not have any negative effect on either the fetus or the pregnancy itself. Based on this, pregnant patients should refrain from using the ointment.
Contraindications
Dr. Theiss Comfrey Ointment is not recommended for use:
- if there is a high probability of developing an allergic process;
- children and patients under 18 years of age;
- pregnant and lactating women;
- if the skin is damaged at the site of application of the ointment.
In addition, you cannot apply Dr. Theiss comfrey ointment to mucous tissues, to the facial area, or allow the drug to come into contact with the eyes, nose, or oral cavity.
