Release form

The pharmaceutical element is produced in tablets, in quantities of 6, 12 or 24 pieces inside a cell plate. There are 1-2 such plates in a box. It can also be produced in vials, with 30 or 60 tablets.

Pharmacodynamics

The use of the drug helps stabilize circadian rhythms, reduces the number of awakenings at night, speeds up falling asleep and improves well-being in the morning (eliminates the feeling of exhaustion, fatigue and lethargy). At the same time, the drug accelerates adaptation in case of a change in time zones and weakens stress reactions. In addition, the development of a strong antioxidant and immunostimulating effect is observed.

Melaxen slows the release of gonadotropins and other pituitary hormones, such as thyrotropin with corticotropin and STH.

The sleeping pill does not cause addiction or habituation.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration of the drug, it is fully and rapidly adsorbed, then passing through histohematic barriers, including the BBB. The drug also has accelerated excretion.

Dosing and administration

The sleeping pill should be taken orally, in the evening before bedtime (approximately 30-40 minutes). It is used once a day, in the amount of 0.5-1 tablet.

To adapt to the change in time zones, you should take a tablet before departure, and then for 2-5 days, 1 tablet daily. A maximum of 2 tablets of LS are allowed per day.

Use Melaxen during pregnancy

The medicine can be used during breastfeeding or pregnancy, but only with a doctor's prescription.

Contraindications

Among the contraindications:

  • presence of severe sensitivity to the drug;
  • significant renal dysfunction;
  • lymphoma with myeloma, leukemia, and lymphogranulomatosis;
  • diabetes mellitus;
  • renal failure, which is chronic.

Side effects Melaxen

When using standard doses of Melaxen, no complications are observed. Possible side effects include vomiting, allergy symptoms, headaches, swelling, nausea, morning drowsiness, and diarrhea.

Overdose

In case of accidental poisoning with the drug, the intensity of side effects may increase.

In such cases, gastric lavage is performed and further symptomatic measures are taken.

Interactions with other drugs

When combining the drug with substances that suppress the function of the nervous system, as well as with β-blockers, their properties are potentiated.

Melaxen should not be used simultaneously with MAOIs or hormonal substances.

Storage conditions

Melaxen should be stored in a dark, dry place, out of the reach of children, at a standard temperature.

Shelf life

Melaxen is permitted to be used for a period of 4 years from the date of release of the pharmaceutical substance.

Application for children

It is prohibited to use in pediatrics due to the lack of data regarding the effectiveness and drug safety of the drug.
