MebSin retard is prescribed for the treatment of disorders associated with gastrointestinal function.

Exchange processes.
Meverine hydrochloride is mainly metabolized with esterases. These elements, at the first stage of metabolism, destroy the ester compounds, forming in the process mebewerin alcohol together with veratric acid. The main product of metabolism inside the plasma is the substance DMCK.
The half-life of the equilibrium DMCA is 5.77 hours. After multiple use of drugs (0.2 g twice a day), the peak value for DMCA was 804 ng / ml. It takes about 3 hours to reach this value. The level of relative bioavailability of the drug has an average proportion of 97%.
Excretion.
Mebeverin is completely metabolized, and its decay products are excreted almost completely. Excretion of veratric acid is carried out with urine, and mebeverin alcohol is excreted through the kidneys in the form of MC or DMCK.

Dosing and administration
The medicine is prescribed for ingestion. Capsules should be washed down with plain water (at least 0.1 L), swallowing them whole, without chewing. This is due to the fact that a special capsule coating provides a sustained release of the active substance.
Children from 10 years and adults are required to take 1 capsule of drugs twice a day (in the morning, and also in the evening).
The duration of taking the drug is not limited. If a dose is missed, it is required to take a new portion at the standard time, and the missed dose is taken additionally with the next assigned one.
