Mastodinone is a homeopathic medicine.
[ 1 ]
Indications Mastodinone
It is used as part of a combination treatment to eliminate the symptoms of the following disorders:
- mental instability, swelling, severe nervousness, headaches, pain and heaviness in the mammary glands and constipation, which are observed against the background of PMS;
- therapy for mastopathy;
- elimination of problems with the menstrual cycle, as well as infertility, which arise due to hypoluteinism - the inferiority of the corpus luteum function.
Release form
The drug is released in the form of oral drops, as well as homeopathic lozenges. The drops are contained in glass dropper bottles with a volume of 50 or 100 ml. The tablets are released in 20 pieces inside a blister plate, 3 blisters inside a pack.
Pharmacodynamics
Mastodinon is a homeopathic preparation of a complex type, which is used to eliminate gynecological disorders. The effect of the elements contained in it leads to a decrease in prolactin levels in the blood, thereby creating the prerequisites for the regression of pathogenic processes in mastopathy.
At the same time, taking the drug helps to normalize the production of gonadotropins by the pituitary gland, as a result of which the progesterone deficiency and the resulting infertility along with menstrual cycle disorders disappear.
The medicinal effect is mainly observed after 1.5 months of taking the drug.
The dopaminergic effect exerted by the drug is the combined effect of all the elements contained in its composition.
Dosing and administration
The solution should be taken 2 times a day, in the morning and in the evening - in a dosage of 30 drops. Before use, the bottle with the solution should be shaken thoroughly, and the measured portion of the medicine should be diluted with some liquid (ordinary water will do).
The medicine requires a long course of use. It is taken for at least 3 months, without taking breaks during menstruation.
If after 1.5 months of the therapeutic course the patient continues to complain of poor condition, the attending physician must decide on the advisability of further use of the previously prescribed treatment regimen.
Use of the drug in tablet form.
It is necessary to take 1 tablet every day, twice a day, and do this for at least 3 months. The most optimal time for taking is morning and evening. After 1.5 months of taking the drug, it is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and the patient's health.
Use Mastodinone during pregnancy
It is prohibited to prescribe Mastodinon to pregnant women.
In nursing women, taking the drug may cause a decrease in lactation, so the use of the drug during breastfeeding is also prohibited.
Contraindications
Main contraindications:
- children under 12 years of age;
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Due to the fact that the drug in the form of drops contains ethyl alcohol, it is prohibited to prescribe it to people who have previously successfully completed a therapeutic course to eliminate alcohol addiction.
The presence of lactose in the tablets does not allow them to be prescribed in the following cases:
- if the patient has galactosemia;
- in glucose malabsorption syndrome;
- in case of lactose intolerance of hereditary origin.
Side effects Mastodinone
Usually, side effects of the drug are observed with prolonged use of the drug. Often, patients experience nausea, acne, allergy symptoms, abdominal pain, itchy exanthema, headaches and slight weight gain.
Due to the presence of the element Agnus castus in the composition of the medicine, a person may sometimes develop a feeling of confusion, temporary psychomotor agitation, and hallucinations may also appear.
If the patient notices the appearance of such reactions, it is necessary to immediately stop using Mastodinone, and then consult with the attending physician.

Overdose
Taking too much of the medicine can result in diarrhea and gastrointestinal dysfunction. Typically, such problems affect patients who suffer from lactose intolerance.
Interactions with other drugs
The properties of Mastodinone may be weakened in case of combined use with dopamine antagonists.
It is also impossible to exclude the possibility of developing a dopaminergic effect of common chaste tree when combined with estrogenic and antiestrogenic agents.
The effectiveness of homeopathic medicines can be reduced by bad habits and an unhealthy lifestyle, as well as when combined with stimulants and irritants.
Before using Mastodinon in combination with other drugs, you must consult with your doctor.
Storage conditions
Mastodinone should be kept in a dark, moisture-proof place, and out of the reach of small children. The temperature should not exceed 25°C.

Reviews
Mastodinone has a large number of different reviews, and most of them rate the drug as positive and very effective. On specialized medical sites, where visitors talk about their experience of using different drugs, the drug received 88% positive reviews.
Among the main advantages of the drug, they mention its natural origin, as well as its high efficiency (but it is noted that its effect manifests itself with a significant delay - positive changes are observed at least several weeks after the start of the course) and the absence of hormonal substances in its composition.
Among the disadvantages, almost all patients complain of a bitter taste and a rather unpleasant smell of the medicinal solution.
Regarding the tablet form of the drug, most patients consider its only disadvantage to be the need to take it over a long period of time (but this disadvantage also applies to drops). But if it is necessary to use the drug outside the home, most note that the tablet form of Mastodinon is much more convenient than the drop form.
But among the reviews you can also find negative ones, which are usually associated with the development of side effects that appear after taking both drops and tablets.
The medicine contains 6 plant elements, so if the patient has hypersensitivity to any of them, the risk of developing a rash on the skin surface, accompanied by itching, cannot be ruled out. In severe cases, the woman develops urticaria, which then develops into angioedema.
As a result of excessive suppression of the processes of prolactin formation, the sebaceous glands malfunction, which leads to the appearance of acne on the skin. Increased production of estrogens can cause weight gain, which causes fat deposition on the abdomen and hips (female obesity).
Doctors' reviews show that Mastodinon is not an etiotropic drug - it is a homeopathic medicine of a complex nature. From this we can understand that the medicine copes well with the symptoms of the pathology, but has almost no effect on the causes of its occurrence.
Because the drug affects the body by reducing prolactin levels, before prescribing this drug, it is necessary to take tests regarding the levels of this hormone in the body. During the therapeutic course, it is recommended to periodically take the same tests - this will allow you to monitor the process of reducing the values of the substance.
Once optimal prolactin levels are reached, you should consult your doctor regarding further actions and monitoring of the condition of your breast tissue.
Shelf life
Mastodinone can be used for a period of 3 years (both in the form of drops and tablets) from the date of release of the medicine. An opened bottle with drops is suitable for use for a period of no more than six months.
