Release form

Available in the form of a gel in tubes with a volume of 15 or 30 g. One package contains 1-tube.

Pharmacodynamics

Terbinafine is an allylamine and has powerful antimycotic properties. If there is a required concentration, terbinafine acquires fungicidal properties, affecting dermatophytes, as well as mold and individual dimorphic fungi. In relation to yeast fungi, the activity of the drug can be fungistatic or fungicidal (this depends on the type of fungus).

At an early stage, the active substance specifically slows the process of biosynthesis of sterols in the fungal plasmalemma. As a result, there is a lack of ergosterol, as well as the accumulation of squalene within the cell, which causes the fungal cells to die. The effect of terbinafine is by suppressing the squalene epoxidase enzyme in a fungal plasmalemma. This enzyme is not part of the P450 hemoprotein system. Terbinafine has no effect on the process of hormonal metabolism or the metabolism of other drugs.

With external use, the drug begins to act fairly quickly - it helps to get the result in a fairly short time (about 1-2 weeks). Absorbed less than 5% of the active substance, so the drug has no significant effect on the systemic blood flow.
