Pharmacodynamics
The combination of active components of the drug has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antibacterial effects.
Lidocaine is an amide substance with a powerful local anesthetic effect. It acts by stabilizing cell membranes, blocking Na channels. Compared to novocaine, lidocaine is safer and more effective, and can also have an antibacterial effect.
The tincture of chamomile flowers contains several substances of different structure with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, the combination of which enhances the overall therapeutic effect of the drug. The most important medicinal elements are sesquiterpenes, which contain more than 50% of the active components of chamomile. The anti-inflammatory effect of this substance is provided by the action of alpha-bisabolol, as well as chamazulene, which also have antibacterial and antimycotic effects.
Thymol is a phenol derivative that has antimicrobial and also a strong antimycotic effect. It has a wide range of disinfectant effects, and what distinguishes it from phenol is that it has a weak toxicity index. At the same time, thymol also has antiviral properties.
Dosing and administration
The gel is applied to the damaged area in a layer no more than 5 mm thick, the procedure is performed 3 times a day. It should be rubbed in with light massaging movements. Adult patients are allowed to apply the medicine more often than 3 times, if necessary.
When using Kamistad to eliminate discomfort caused by dentures, it is necessary to treat the areas where rubbing occurs with the gel. The drug should be used until the discomfort has completely disappeared.
A special form of gel for children – Kamistad Baby is used a maximum of three times a day – it is used to treat the child’s gums. The medicine is mainly used during teething, because it helps to significantly reduce the discomfort and pain that occurs when teeth are cut.

Reviews
Kamistad is often used during teething, as well as to eliminate other pathologies. Reviews about it are mostly positive. According to parents, this gel reduces pain and irritation, helping to calm the baby - often after treating the mucous membrane with the medicine, the child quickly falls asleep.
But it is also noted that the drug should not be used without a doctor's prescription, because he can provide detailed advice on the use of the gel.
Another advantage of Kamistad is its ease of use, because the gel does not spread, which allows it to be applied using a point method to the required area.
At the same time, the use of the drug in adults is discussed. Its effectiveness as a means of reducing the manifestations of stomatitis, as well as pain and discomfort due to trauma to the oral mucosa, etc., is highlighted.
