The drug Intetrix has antiprotozoal medicinal activity against the human body.
The medicine belongs to the category of therapeutic drugs that have a noticeable disinfecting effect on the intestines (while not causing a negative impact on its saprophytic flora) and can demonstrate a powerful effect on gram-positive and -negative bacteria that cause various pathologies.

Indications Intetrixa
It is used for the following disorders:
- tissue-damaging amoebicide (as part of combination therapy);
- amebiasis in the intestinal area;
- amebiasis that occurs without the development of symptoms (if diagnosed early).
Often the medication is prescribed to prevent the occurrence of various intestinal disorders, including dysbacteriosis or diarrhea.
Release form
The release of the therapeutic substance is realized in capsules, which in the amount of 10 or 20 pieces are packaged in cellular packaging. Inside the pack there are 1 or 2 such packages.
Pharmacodynamics
Intetrix has high therapeutic efficiency in case of chronic amebiasis. Synergism of amebicidal activity of the drug's disinfectant compounds allows to fight amebiasis in the intestinal area. The drug's compounds show their activity inside the intestinal lumen.
Doctors believe that the drug demonstrates the highest efficiency in the treatment of vegetative types of amebiasis, because it has powerful antimicrobial, bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties. The drug prevents the negative effect caused by bacteria such as fecal streptococcus, serratia marcescens, cholera vibrio Inaba or Ogava, vulgar proteus, S.enteritidis Danysz. S. Paratyphy B and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
At the same time, the drug has an antimycotic effect on the yeast-like Candida albicans fungus. The drug does not create resistance in the blood plasma and does not affect the intestinal flora.
Pharmacokinetics
After 4 hours from the moment of administration, the blood Cmax of the drug is noted. Excretion of the drug occurs after a maximum of 2 days from the moment of its use.
Dosing and administration
Intetrix is taken in a dose of 2 capsules 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening), for 10 days. The substance is taken orally, before eating; the capsules are not chewed, but swallowed whole, washed down with plain water.

Use Intetrixa during pregnancy
The medication can be used during breastfeeding or pregnancy only if there are strict indications, because there is no reliable information regarding its effects on the fetus and infant.
Contraindications
Contraindicated for use in people with personal sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Side effects Intetrixa
In case of violation of the regimen of use or dosage of the drug, some side effects may be observed: an increase in the level of intrahepatic transaminases or nausea, urticaria, Quincke's edema and other allergy symptoms. An overdose of the drug causes pigment erythema, gastralgia or polyneuropathy, which affects the optic nerve.
Overdose
Drug intoxication causes potentiation of the drug's side effects.
Interactions with other drugs
It is prohibited to combine the drug with substances that contain hydroxyquinolines in their chemical composition.

Shelf life
Intetrix can be used within a 3-year period from the date of sale of the drug.
Application for children
Intetrix is not used in people under 14 years of age.
