A kink in the gallbladder in a child is a deformation of the organ and a decrease in its performance. The gallbladder is divided into three parts (fundus, neck, body) and is located at the bottom of the liver. In a normal state, the organ resembles a pear or a funnel, but under the influence of various factors it can take any shape.

Reasons

In a child, a kink in the gallbladder may be a congenital or acquired pathology.

In case of a congenital anomaly, the structure of the organ is deformed already at the stage of intrauterine development. One of the reasons for a congenital kink can be genetic mutations, which lead to a disruption in the development of the muscular layer. In most cases, a congenital kink of the gallbladder occurs without pronounced symptoms and does not require special treatment. Often, a congenital anomaly is detected accidentally during an examination, for example, an ultrasound. In addition, such a pathology can resolve with age without external intervention.

Acquired kink in the gallbladder can develop due to excessive activity, emotional or physical stress, poor nutrition, and excess weight.

It is worth noting that children are strictly prohibited from lifting heavy objects, as this can lead to organ prolapse and increases the risk of gallbladder deformation.

Symptoms of a kink in the gallbladder in a child

Bile is necessary for the normal process of digestion of food in the intestines; it serves as a solvent for food products.

It is worth noting that the body does not need bile constantly, but only for a certain period of time - after eating. The gallbladder serves as a kind of storage for bile and releases it only when necessary. When the organ is deformed, the outflow of bile from the gallbladder is disrupted, which leads to disruptions in the digestive system as a whole, the symptoms of this pathology depend on the place where the bend is observed.

If the part between the bottom and the body of the gallbladder is deformed, the person experiences abdominal pain, which can radiate to the shoulder blade, collarbone, sternum, nausea and vomiting after eating. In addition, there are cracks and stomatitis on the lips, plaque on the tongue. In children, such deformation of the gallbladder is the most common.

A kink in the gallbladder in a child in the neck area leads to pain in the right hypochondrium, nausea, and excessive gas formation. A kink in the neck is considered a dangerous pathology that can lead to death, bile can get into the abdominal cavity and provoke a strong inflammatory process.

In extremely rare cases, the organ bends in several places, as a rule, this happens when stones form or the gallbladder is abnormally large. In this case, abdominal pain and nausea after eating also appear.

Treatment of a kink in the gallbladder in a child

In a child, a kink in the gallbladder is treated conservatively, but the therapy takes a long time and includes medication, physiotherapy procedures, treatment in a sanatorium, and a diet.

In case of gall bladder deformation, antispasmodic and choleretic drugs (flamin, odeston, aristochol, chophytol, tsikvalon) are prescribed, which prevent excessive accumulation of bile and promote its entry into the intestine. Taking such drugs is prescribed in courses, the duration of which is determined by the doctor (from 2 to 4 weeks), as a rule, 1-2 tablets are prescribed before meals three times a day.

Physiotherapeutic procedures that improve blood flow in the gallbladder and normalize its function show a good therapeutic effect.

In case of gallbladder kinking, a diet is prescribed, which is considered the basis of treatment, since without proper nutrition the effect of other treatment methods is reduced to zero. Patients with gallbladder deformation are recommended to completely exclude from the diet baked goods, salty, fried, spicy, fatty dishes, smoked foods, eat more non-acidic fruits, vegetables (boiled or baked pumpkin is especially recommended for this pathology).

The child can be given lean meat, pasta, porridge, seafood, and fermented milk products. It is better to steam, bake, or boil the dishes.

You also need to make sure that your child drinks enough fluids to prevent bile from thickening.

Treatment of such pathology with medicinal herbs is widespread. Children over 12 years old are recommended to take choleretic collection No. 3, the complex action of which has an antispasmodic, choleretic, anti-inflammatory effect. The composition of the collection includes mint, calendula, chamomile, tansy, yarrow. Take a decoction of medicinal herbs three times a day, 1/3 cup 30 minutes before meals.

Forecast

A kink in the gallbladder in a child provokes the development of chronic diseases of the intestines and stomach, as well as an enlarged liver. When pathology is detected, specialists give a favorable prognosis, but on condition that the recommendations are followed correctly. It is worth recalling that the basis for treating such pathology is a diet, without which the child's condition may worsen.

A kink in the gallbladder in a child is a serious pathology that can lead to adverse consequences. If the child's health worsens, first of all, you should change the child's diet and exclude fatty, fried and smoked foods, and, as prescribed by a doctor, give him a course of choleretic drugs.
