A non-invasive study that identifies a number of serious diseases and pathologies is called ultrasound of the gallbladder. Where to do ultrasound screening, what are the features of the procedure and who is assigned the diagnosis, consider these questions. The procedure is carried out in medical centers or clinics, a physician of functional diagnostics. Some clinics conduct diagnostics at the patient's home. But ultrasound should be prepared in advance, in order to ensure that the results are as reliable as possible.
The study is used to detect cholelithiasis, acute cholecystitis, cholangitis, dropsy or choledocholithiasis. Preparation for the procedure implies adherence to a special diet, that is, rejection of fatty, fried and alcoholic. Also, you should limit the use of products that cause excessive gas production, yeast baked goods, carbonated beverages, raw vegetables and fruits. Observance of all these rules is a pledge of fast, qualitative and painless diagnostics.
Ultrasound of the gallbladder is transabdominal, that is, through the walls of the abdomen. The patient lies on the couch, on his back, the doctor applies a special conducting gel on his stomach and drives a sensor through it. The procedure proceeds painlessly, but with acute gallbladder diseases, unpleasant sensations are possible. The doctor deciphers the received information and gives the patient the conclusion about the passed research.
