Pharmacodynamics
Because the medicine has hepatoprotective properties, it can have a choleretic effect, and at the same time helps to form and subsequently dissolve stones inside the body. In addition, the medicine has a hypolipidemic, immunomodulatory, and at the same time hypocholesterolemic effect.
Due to the presence of the UDCA element in the composition of the drug, non-toxic forms of mixed-type micelles are formed together with apolar bile acids. As a result, the negative effect of gastric reflux on cell membranes (develops with esophagitis or reflux gastritis) is leveled.
The effect of the UDCA component leads to the formation of molecules inside the human body that are embedded in the cell walls of hepatocytes with cholangiocytes, as well as epithelial cells inside the stomach. This leads to their stabilization and the development of resistance to pathogenic cytotoxic micelles. UDCA reduces the level of bile acids, which have a destructive effect on liver cells, and also stimulates the process of choleresis, characterized by the presence of a large number of bicarbonates.
The highly active binder contained in the preparation helps to reduce the cholesterol values in bile, resulting in a decrease in its gastric absorption and binding in the liver. UDCA also interacts with cholesterol and increases its solubility in bile, which ultimately leads to the formation of crystals and a decrease in the lithogenic index. The result is the complete dissolution of gallstones.
Laboratory test results have shown that the drug has a high ability to block fibrosis in people with cirrhosis, cystic fibrosis or alcoholic steatohepatitis. At the same time, Choludexan prevents the development of varicose veins inside the esophagus and slows down the processes of premature aging, as well as the death of hepatocytes with cholangiocytes and other cells.
Dosing and administration
The drug must be used in accordance with the treatment regimens presented below:
- a cycle lasting a minimum of 10-14 days/maximum of 0.5-2 years, and including daily intake of 1 capsule of the drug (0.3 g) before bedtime (treatment of esophagitis or reflux gastritis);
- a continuous cycle lasting a minimum of several months/maximum of 2 years, includes the use of 2-5 capsules/day (treatment of chronic liver pathologies, cholelithiasis, biliary sludge and cholesterol gallstones). The medicine should be taken until the stones are completely dissolved, and then for another 3 months to prevent the appearance of neoplasms;
- in a course lasting at least 6 months, take the medicine in a daily dose of 10-15 mg/kg (for the treatment of biliary cirrhosis);
- in the period of 0.5-2 years, use Choludexan in a daily dose of 13-15 mg/kg (for steatohepatitis that is not associated with alcoholic beverages);
- a cycle consisting of several months and including taking 2 capsules of the drug per day (prevention of the development of cholecystectomy or cholelithiasis);
- during a cycle lasting 0.5-1 year, it is necessary to take 10-15 mg/kg of the drug per day (therapy for liver diseases caused by the action of drugs or toxins, as well as for atresia);
- during the period of 0.5-2 years, it is necessary to take a daily dose of 20-30 mg/kg (treatment of cystic fibrosis);
- for a course lasting 0.5-2 years, it is required to take 12-15 mg per day (maximum - 20 mg) - for the treatment of cholangitis.
For therapy in children over 4 years of age, the drug is prescribed in a daily dose of 10-20 mg/kg.
