Pharmacodynamics
The mechanism of the influence of Holysala is due to the combination of its two active elements.
Salicylic acid has an effective analgesic effect on the treatment site and removes inflammation. This component reduces the activity of COX and macrophages with neutrophils. If the mouth is marked with an acidic environment, the drug may have antimicrobial and antimycotic effects. The analgesic effect of the drug on average lasts approximately 2-8 hours.
Chloride cetalkonium has a powerful disinfecting effect. It shows activity against gram-positive, as well as gram-negative bacteria. Together with this he destroys viral and fungal microorganisms.
In itself, the helium base itself, together with the elements contained in it, is capable of exerting antibacterial and anti-mycotic effects. The special structure of the gel allows it to be absorbed efficiently inside tissues, rapidly reaching the nerve receptors, and also to be retained for a long time on the oral mucosa. Inside the circulatory system, the drug almost does not fall.
Dosing and administration
Medicinal gel is required only for local treatment of affected areas of the mouth.
It is necessary to apply the medicine before eating or after it (in the interval of 15 minutes), rubbing it with your finger in the affected area of the mucosa. This procedure should be performed 2-3 times / day. For children, a gel strip 0.5 cm in size and 1 cm in adults is required.
To treat periodontal disease, it is necessary to treat the pockets formed inside the gums with gel, or to make helium compresses for the gums.
It is not recommended to use the drug for children under 3 years old. When stomatitis medication is applied to affected areas for half an hour before eating. In addition, you can rub the drug (0.5 cm) into the mucosa for 2 minutes.
