- vision problems;
- conditions that lead to exhaustion or hypotrophy;

Pharmacodynamics
Hematogen is used to correct metabolic processes. The substance is a source of complete real protein (one in which all amino acids are in proportions most suitable for the body), and also minerals and fats with carbohydrates present in its composition in the closest possible correspondence with the values of human blood.
The drug stimulates hematopoiesis processes, increases the level of red blood cells in the blood of people with anemia, and in addition helps to improve the absorption of iron in the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, it increases the Hb values in the blood and the level of ferritin in the plasma (ferritin is a protein complex of a globular nature, which is the main intracellular depot for iron), and also improves the morphological parameters of red blood cells (for example, eliminates erythrocyte hypochromia and microcytosis, and at the same time increases the average volumes of their diameter).
Hematogen contains a considerable amount of retinol, which allows it to have a positive effect on the growth of nails and hair, as well as the condition of the skin and vision.
Dosing and administration
The lozenges are taken orally. The adult dose is 1-3 lozenges per use. This dose should be taken 2-3 times a day (daily maximum is 50 g).
There are no time limits for taking the medicine, provided that the above instructions for taking it are followed.
Application for children
The daily dose of the medicine for a child is 2-6 tablets (maximum 30 g/day). The dose can be divided into 2-3 doses. If the specified daily doses are observed, the medicine can be used without time restrictions.
Although the instructions of some manufacturers indicate that the drug is approved for use from 2-3 years of age, doctors still recommend introducing it into the child’s diet once the child reaches 5-7 years of age.

Use Hematogen during pregnancy
Pregnant women are prescribed Hematogen only if there are indications, in limited doses, and only in situations where its benefit to the mother is more likely than the potential risk of adverse effects on the fetus.
This ban is a consequence of the fact that a high level of hemoglobin causes blood thickening, which can cause thrombosis or capillary embolism in the placenta area - this factor negatively affects the condition and development of the fetus.
The substance contains a lot of calories and therefore can lead to a sharp increase in weight. In addition, as a result of hormonal changes, the pregnant woman's body can produce an allergic reaction to the use of the drug.
Although it is impossible not to take into account that there are cases in which the use of Hematogen during pregnancy is extremely necessary and exceeds the likelihood of risks. Doctors sometimes prescribe it as a preventive drug against the development of iron deficiency anemia or for its treatment.
Therefore, it is quite difficult to give a clear answer to the question about the use of drugs for pregnant women. The attending physician may recommend its use or prohibit it, taking into account the peculiarities of the pregnancy period, as well as the individual characteristics of the woman's body.
Only the attending physician can permit nursing mothers to use the drug.
