Festal exhibits amylolytic, choleretic, lipolytic, proteolytic, and pancreatic stabilizing activity.

This enzyme preparation can compensate for the problem with the excretory activity of the pancreas, and at the same time helps the bile-excreting liver function.

The enzymes contained in the pancreatin component (amylase with protease, as well as lipase) facilitate protein and carbohydrate digestion, improving the absorption of these elements in the small intestine.

Indications Festala

It is used for problems with the functioning of the pancreas, during which chronic pancreatitis is observed, and also for biliary insufficiency with digestive disorders, constipation and bloating.

Therapy is carried out for the following disorders:

  • diffuse liver diseases ( liver cirrhosis and liver damage of toxic or alcoholic origin);
  • large loss of bile acid, such as after a cholecystectomy procedure;
  • disruptions in the processes of bile acid circulation associated with dysbacteriosis, dyskinesia of the bile duct and malabsorption;
  • deviations in the digestion processes in individuals with normal gastrointestinal function due to changes in diet, problems with chewing activity, a sedentary lifestyle, etc.;
  • disorders of the regulation of neurohumoral processes during bile secretion or bile formation, against the background of which chronic gastrointestinal diseases are observed (for example, gastritis, cholecystitis or duodenitis);
  • preparation for an ultrasound procedure in the abdominal organs or for an X-ray.

Release form

The drug is released in dragees - 10 pieces in a strip. In a box - 2, 4, and also 6 or 10 strips.

Pharmacodynamics

It has been found that the enzyme hemicellulase effectively improves the processes of breaking down plant-based fiber, as well as the digestive function, reducing gas formation.

The extract obtained from ox bile has choleretic properties, and in addition, improves fat emulsification, stabilizes the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins or fats, and increases the activity of lipase.

Dosing and administration

The medication is taken orally, whole, with food or immediately after it (the pills should be washed down with plain water).

On average, take 1-2 pills 3 times a day. The dose can be increased only with the permission of a physician. In case of ultrasound or X-ray, the medicine is taken 2-3 days before the procedure - 2 pills 2-3 times a day.

The duration of treatment is determined by the severity of the disorder and can range from several days to several years.

Pregnant women should be prescribed Festal with extreme caution. Often, in this case, the decision is made by the patient's attending physician.

The use of this drug during breastfeeding or pregnancy is permitted only in situations where the benefit of therapy is more likely than the risk of adverse effects on the fetus or infant.
